but if Reeves plays more than 10min per game...Florida will score a couple more goals per game
- Symba007

Reaves has never played more than 10mins a game during the post-season during his career. What makes you think that would change?

Joe Malone scored 7 goals in a single game in 1920.

Matthews can match that in the final game.

I actually think Shanahan's employment is at risk - if I'm not mistaken, he's only under contract until the end of next season.
- mjones242

How can his job possibly be safe with the lack of success this team has had?!?

I think the forward lines have balanced out nicely but I'm not entirely sure they (the top 9) have the necessary grit and defensive game needed for manly-man playoff hockey.

The d-corps may help a lot with the scrummy bs in front of the net though - which has been an Achilles Hell in the past in the post-season.

I dunno... this year, more than any during the Core 4 era, I have zero clue what this team is capable of. I think they're, at best, a dark horse. 🤷

- mjones242

I tend to disagree. AM, JT, and WN have all shown decent amounts of grit in the regular season, and I expect that to be ramped up in the postseason. MM is soft as Charmin though.

They'll sit him in the final game, we'll have to be happy with 71.

Imagine today’s Matthews shooting at Georges Vézina? lol

It would either work out to 7 goals or somehow making Matthews look absolutely stunned lol

Those guys all had balls of hardened steel, but I think most of them would get chased from the crease pretty quick in today's game....or killed by a slapshot.

Matthews would have trouble finding open space - he'd be covered by the rover.

Or convincing them to toss on a jock and a mask would make their courage unreal.

Any net front style forward from the opposition would likely get hacked in the back of the legs while getting punched in the head for getting too close.

Dewar was a sneaky good pickup at the 11th hour before the TDL.
- Whipper

Decent 4th liner. Wouldn't be mad if they bring him back (under 1 mil)

They would essentially need to make his linemates Reaves and some other grunt.

So this is awkward, but uhhhhhh....

Reaves would not be in the lineup.

He'll get Tre's favourite $1.35M/3. I'd be okay with that.

Agreed but if everyone is healthy, there’s a chance he sits game one. Add Jarnkrok, Domi and McMann to the guys playing tonight and who comes out? Gregor is easy. After that it’s two of Dewar, Reaves, Nickie or maybe McMann.

Ahhh sorry… I was seeing it as Vezina playing currently and somehow getting away with what was allowed back then.

If I'm Keefe, I put Robertson in for game 1. This team is going to have trouble scoring on the Panthers - put in a guy who can put the biscuit in the basket.

Then it's up to Nickie. If he poops the bed, he's out for the rest of the series.

It's a nice problem to have. Lots of guys competing for time, you gotta hope that brings out the best in some. Hard to take Nickie out when he's been potting, but he's a defensive liability.

Meh. If YarnCock is healthy, he's a good defensive presence for a rookie centering a high octane winger. Swap him with McMann, whatever. Keefe will juggle the lines anyways.
