Any team playing at home in the last game of the season is going to play hard. Especially if they can play spoiler. Detroit played 6 forwards for almost the entire 3rd last night and it took everything they had. There’s better than a Zero chance both teams lose.

I know I’ve said this before but we should be in the Stanley cup finals by now. The league should really do a shortened season one year to readjust the timing of the 82 game season. Like if the Pens had a playoff game on a Sat at noon this time of year who wants to be inside watching tv?

Flyers will need to win the game outright in regulation. If the game is tied, Flyers will have to pull their goalie. Losing or winning in overtime does nothing for the Flyers. All Washington has to do is play for a tie in regulation.

Hopefully the Capitals playing last night lets the flyers get off to a good start.

Just crazy they are -38 and most likely going to be in the playoffs.

It would be the worst goal differential for a playoff team in the cap era.

The worst was -24. If the Caps win, they would crush that record. Maybe not the best record to have.

Let’s go Torts! I’m rooting for Torts not the Flyers.

The thing that sucks about WSH’s likelihood of moving-on is that tonight will probably be the last game they win.

Depends. Are we alive with a Flyers OT win or nah?

Either way, Flyers and Habs look like the better teams right now. Let’s see if that stays the case

MTL didn't have anything to play for last night and took DET to OT, and tonight they'll be at home playing their last game of the season. They'll give it what they have. DET is still definitely the favorite, but MTL could beat them.

I'd say WSH/PHI is 50/50 (Flyers are at home, which helps them), and DET/MTL is maybe 60/40 (again, MTL being home this time helps). So about a 20% chance that both games go the way we need.

- MickV

Going into the 3rd periods WSH-PHI tied and MTL up by 1, I'll revise MTL chances up to 50/50 so now we're at 25% chance of this working out for us. 7 months comes down to 2 coin flips in the next 45 mins or so.

Doesn't matter how either team loses, they just can't get the 2 points.

Just to be clear, that's to keep us alive. If they both lose in regulation we could move on by losing in OT tomorrow. If they get the extra point we need to win tomorrow.
