Kinda bummed we don’t get to see a healthy kane in the playoffs. Washington is fooling only themselves trying to be competitive with this dinosaur team. They’ll get trounced by the Rangers or Hurricanes. - ObeseOprah
The Caps have been sellers since last years trade deadline, not like they went out and traded vets for draft picks to get into the playoffs. |

That was a really nice play by little Franky against 2 knights, takes the puck away along the boards quickly turns around and gets a shot on goal |

So good tosee the hawks driving the play. Nazar on a line with bedard and kurashev was a delight to waych. PP will be interesting with those two rookies on the ice. |

Reichel has been more involved so far this game. Tinordi doing his nightly penalty. Tyler Johnson getting hurt for us just one last time. Classic stuff. |

Yeah I like the way Reichel has played the last few games. He’s allot more involved in the play. |

That sure seemed more awkward for Whitecloud than it did Nazar |

I agree, he definitely has been more aggressive with or without the puck. |

Looks like Nazar can take a hit. I think Taylor Hall would end up on LTIR after that check. |

That and when it's on his stick he's driving to the net more vs peeling off on the board. Continue please. |

Tough play for a rookie in his second game there, needs to move that puck a little quicker and got burned for it. |

Can definitely see he has speed and some decent vision of the play on the ice. |

Hopefully the summer will help some of the young Hawks take the next step in being more consistent. I think especially the Dmen, as they get stronger it will help the team out of their end and get on the attack.
I'd like to see them get a little stronger, get better at winning battles. On the forwards hopefully win some more battles on the forecheck and create a bit more offense, get on the cycle more and get more pressure on the opposition. We often gain the zone and just get squeezed out, or fail to retrieve pucks and then our good offensive players don't get much chance to create anything. To me, so much of the game comes down to those 50-50 battles for the puck, and we (in my opinion) aren't good at winning those. |

Really enjoyed being at the game tonight.
My thoughts for what its worth.
Nazar is noticeably fast, Bedard is a non factor for large parts of the game, but the team really battled hard.
Bedard needs some muscle on his line, Vegas just shut him down really quickly, he had no clear ice around him.
Looked like they couldn't slow the Knights through the middle most of the game, especially the 2nd period.
The AA, Reichel,Donato line looked like our strongest.
Vlasic was the best Hawk for me, seemed to have the time the others didn't. He skated well, and had good hands when needed.
Our forwards always seemed to be on the wrong side of the defender when try to recieve a pass. Then aside from Richardenson, Foligno Donato and Johnson, the rest would get outmuscled.
Vegas just seemed physically stronger across the ice.
Lots of Vegas fans around me were impressed with the Hawks.
Murphy looked ok, Jones got better as the game went on, KK was a mixed bag, Tinordi and Megna didn't actually look that bad aside from that one stuff up.

Detroit season officially over. They pushed it to overtime with 5 seconds left, but Washington just won. - Chunk
And aside from the Covid season where the Hawks lucked out and were allowed into the "playoffs", Alex DeBrincat has never played an NHL playoff game. |

Glad you enjoyed the game. Watching, it appeared the Hawks didn’t win many board battles. If Bedard, Nazar, Reichel, Kurashev are in the top 6, I hope KD is looking to bring in a forward or 2 that belong on the top 2 lines that can come out of a board battle with the puck on their stick. |

That is just a horrible d-pairing. Either one of those with someone else is bad enough, but together?

Agree...some of that will come with time and physical maturation. Plus as most of us have posted will be interesting to see if KFC picks up a couple more NHL fwds in the offseason that can help balance the lineup.
I know Nazar plays center, or did in college but maybe he and Bedard are 2/3 of one line next season possibly along with a top 6 UFA that KFC picks up.
Maybe Kurashev bumps down one to play with Reichel and ??? and then Foligno Richardinson and Donato can slot down more correctly.
One more game and the draft and offseason to look forward to.

On next year's lineup, I don't see TJ back. Blackwell's a UFA so maybe they let him walk and afa the rest of the RFA forwards, hoping only a couple are back out of Anderson, Entwistle, Raddysh and R. Johnson. I'd prefer they not qualify Raddysh or Reese Johnson.
With happened to Raddysh this year? I get it he wasn't playing with 19 but when he was slotted higher in the lineup earlier in the season, he was invisible.
Hopefully we get more than 10 games out of Hall next season too. |
