Kyle Davidson says the standard needs to be raised. Finishing second-to-last the league can't happen again.

Maybe Kyle felt he had to respond after the Foligno comment.

I have been following this sport long enough to have herd lots a poor NHL teams say the same thing; it doesn't change the situation.

That first pick if they get it helps, the prospect they get hopes in 2-23 seasons, but unless you are signing Kane and tanner, how are you going to acquire improvement except to top through the bad patch with the kids continuing to grow in experience and make places for themselves as NHLers.

I don't think I can put it alll on Frankie Nazar's shoulders...

I'm thinking the Foligno statement was planned by KD.

I expect 3 NHL players to be added to this roster through free agency, which i thought was the plan during this past season.

I still expect them to end up with a top 5 pick next season.

Certainly possible. Set the expectation low and you'll never be disappointed.

Well i look at our blue line, really young, if KD is serious he's going to have to sign a good RD man to solidify the defensive pairings

S Jones Korchinski
????? Vlasic
Murphy Kaiser/DelMastro

Then he has to sign 3 NHL forwards

GF 179 GA 290

That's going to be a tall order to go from -110 to -50 or less

Patrick Roy, NYI head coach, chose to start Varlamov instead of Sorokin. Does Sorokin have a minor injury? Or Roy thought Sorokin didn’t close the regular season in good form? Just a hunch or a psychological ploy to start Varlamov? The Carolina Hurricanes won 3-1

And I went back to correct the dman auto correct after posting. Can auto correct be removed or is it automatically part of the type keyboard being used?

I'm curious to see if the Leafs forwards commit to playing defense first, i really believe that's what it will take for them to win.

Sounds like Alex Vlasic will be looking for a long-term contract with the Blackhawks this summer. “I want to be here as long as possible.”

Per Ben Pope

Really hoping they come to a long term agreement

I hope not. A 100% buy in even if trailing mid to late in a game or the series? Believe it only once ai see that kind of commitment. Keep improving the talent on your roster and still loose to the Bruins or Florida l perfect end to their season

They can bridge him for 2-3 years, then he'll still be a RFA and can be signed for 8 more.

I figured KD realized the rebuild has to progress. Another season of trying to acquire a high draft pick had too many risks, including pissing off this hockey buzz page.
- paulr

We know KD can tear down a team, accumulate picks, and select prospects. Now we'll see how he can starting building a team.

Well first goal against dumb play by Reaves, but you know he's a big physical player that many covet.

Leafs are being physical even Msrner and Matthews

Very true, then we'll see if can manage the cap, then we'll see if he can keep the right players, see if he can make the playoffs more than one year, then we'll see if he can win a playoff serious, then we'll see if he can win more than one play off series, then we'll see if he can win more than one cup, 😉

Honestly, my humble opinion is I do not see a Hedman, although I see big men...

I don't see Makar, but I see smaller scoring rearquards.

Right now, I am not willing to pop corks after they take any one of them.

I like Richardensian because he could evolve into that ten year fixture type.
(But the offensive side would really have to emerge)

if some one has the balls to call Artyom Levshunov an RD version of Hedman, I can't go that far.
Anton Silayev is a freakish beast, never touch the North American surface and who knows if he can make the double adjustment of culture and big league play.

I just think there is plenty of upside in eisramn AND big left winger centre Lindstrom, so why full around...look for Bobby Orr in 2025 when we lose that lottery and the consolation prize is Logan Hensler and Charlie Trethewey are their at slot four and up....

Ok, thanks for reasonable assessment. I was hoping there was an Alex Pietrangelo lurking.

4.5 x8 imo he took big steps this year and definitely looks like a top dman in this league and will only get better when he learns how use his physicality and fill in his frame more.

I would like to see Foligno and Hall convince former teammate DeBrusk to sign as a FA.

I really like how the Boston players are constantly supporting each other. They always play such a great system it's too bad they just don't have the overall talent to win a cup.
