Why does the GM need a coach’s help to do a GM job that he has been doing for, what, 5 years now? And why do you hope that the new hire can come in and help at a job he wasn’t hired for?

Why not just fire Adams and hire Ruff as GM and let him promote Adam Mair already and get this over with?

Lindy Ruff, the guy who always had a roster spot for MFE and Mair, yet constantly yelled at players like Roy, Vanek, Afinogenov, you hope that guy can help with roster construction? Paul Gaustad loving ass.

- Jet Jaguar BD

Well because Adams is still here, and if Ruff can help him in making roster moves that make us Better, then I really don't care. And I didn't want Ruff back, I wanted Berube. Not my Call so as long as he helps him that's all that matters at this point.

Ruff just needs to help Adams finish the puzzle, and I hope he still has that in him. They don't have to build a whole Team, Just find the right pieces to get to the next point.

When has Ruff put the puzzle together from the GM perspective?

How can he help there?

Edit: Your answer above works as a response for my question.

So Granato didn't have say on players he wanted, every Coach has a say in one way or another. And I would think Lindy doesn't have to beat the Table

Must admit, he brought a lot more than I thought he would. That being said, how much of the anger towards him is due to Donny's misuse? IMO, if he had played bottom6 minutes and not been handed PP time, he'd be more positively thought of.

I think a big part of it is that's he's 6'6'' 225 and has some skill. You're expecting a power forward and you only get an occasional glimpse of that. It's easy to miss what he does bring.

Benson-Mitts-Greenway was a really good line for them. Skinner-Krebs-Greenway was not. He's a complimentary piece, not someone who can plug anywhere.

Sure. Or it works out.

PLD is not going to happen in any case but if Kevo hands out a big contract to UPL, Byram, or whoever else, then they're going to need to start figuring out ways to add talent to this team long term without adding massive salary. That's going to require some risk taking. I get that PLD isn't a perfect idea but that's at least the kind of thinking that they're going to need to start exploring

Pipeline.
Keep building the pipeline, do not take unnecessary risk on players with red flags from 3 teams at age 24.
Trade a couple prospects to improve ... get the Analytics Team to prove their worth on you NHL Players now to find those guys... Not off the trash jeep.
That is called desperation, not a plan.

Meatball's input was a massive failure.

Dylan Cozens told Adams to trade for Byram, lets make him a player/coach.

I'm just trying to say the idea that Ruff is going to change the roster for Adams is a bad plan to begin with.

Would love to know if Lindy was Kev's hire or Terry's. Have a suspicion that it's Terry and he has a direct line.

Keep building the pipeline while simultaneously trading away prospects...make the playoffs next season. Terry Pegula loves your idea.

Makes sense and well said. I do wish we would've seen Benny-Krebs-Greenway for a bit. That'd be a pretty tenacious trio.

For whatever is said, there's talent on this team, and a lot of it. Bring in the Right Leadership, add Snarl that can play. And get a Coaching staff that can teach these Kids, way to much inexperience on Granato's staff.
