Hate to take anything away from Steel, but I think I like Sundqvist a little better if I had to choose. He’s bigger, he’s a bit more skilled and has plenty of playoff experience, not to mention he seems to always find his way onto the score sheet.
As far as who’s in net? I should think it would be a pretty easy decision… but it wouldn’t surprise me to see Evason trying to go back to Flower…. |

Foligno needs to calm the (frank) down. 2 goals scored while he’s in the box. |

Kaprizov lost his mojo - MnGump
He's the new Gaborik. Hot during the season, no show in the playoffs. Even if the Wild pull of 4 wins in this first round, they won't do it in the 2nd with how they played tonight. |

As I stated several weeks ago upon Kappys return from injury, he seems to be trying to force play instead of letting the game come to him. Either way, I think he can get hot again.
I honestly never expected this squad to make a legit cup run this season, but I would still love to see them get out of the first round for once.

As far as Folignos performance is concerned, I like the tough play and dedication to physicality, but for the love of god STOP running your mouth and bringing attention to yourself. Refs are calling bad penalties on you because of it. Sole reason for tonight’s loss IMO |

I have to agree on Foligno. Granted, he has always been a pretty emotional player on the ice, but it's being watched under a microscope right now and he has to keep his cool. At least one of Foligno's penalties was also called on a Stars player during the game, so at least it was kept consistent. I think the refs in this series are trying to keep things to a minimum, so they have quick whistles right now.
I think this has to be said....Gus is paying outstanding so far....but Oettinger is just insane. He appears to be the type of goalie that the Wild are hoping Gus will be...and Wallstedt in the future. Someone who can rob a game or 2 for a team. 3 breakaways, 0 goals? Not really sure why they are going high blocker side on all 3 of those. The 2nd save on Foligno's breakaway was a thing of beauty. Figures it'd be a Minnesota kid who is making the playoffs difficult for the Wild.
I am enjoying this series though. I have no problem with these 2 teams flipping back and forth on the wins. That would mean Wild in 7 and I am definitely ok with that. |
