Sure can!
Larsson and Kartye for Willie and Murray.
Kracken files for arb on Dunn to get to the 2nd buy-out window and buys out Murray. Larsson gets traded a 2nd time for a superstar.
Leafs trade Timmons or Lily for more depth or towards a goalie if Sammy/Woll is not their tandem.

Odds are yes they could do it even despite the whack of M and NTC.

Swap Murray and Dreidger. Both teams do a buyout but that save TO about 2mil.

Tolvanen, prospect like Firkkus or Winterton etc, and a 1st and 3rd (Toronto's)

Dont think it will happen at all but it IS doable. Think TO can likely make a far better trade less for futures more about now with say Calgary but see how that plays out. Adding Nylander messes with the cap structure but that offensive weapon on line 1 would be major out there with Benny.

My initial thought would be a 1st, prospect and roster player that becomes a UFA.

1st, Firkus or Goyette, Wennberg

Maybe have a condition on 1st, if Nylander re-signs then it's a 1st otherwise it becomes a 2nd.

Problem there is Wennberg has that M-NTC. That could posdibly snag it up hence Tolvanen. Replaces Nulander on ghe wing at least there for Toronto and has no protection to hinder the move.

Toronto has to take back salary, if I'm Seattle that is non-negotiable. Toronto can't use Seattle as a dumping ground and expect a good return. Just like any team, if they put themselves in this situation they can't be bailed out.

Update:
I could see Tolvanen added, but not with a 1st AND prospect. Lower cap hit and younger player brings lower return.

……”everyone knows Nylander wants out”?? Really!? I think that everyone knows that Nylander is all about the cash and could care less about winning, but I’m not sure he wants out, just wants as much cash as possible. I’m sure he’d be happy if the Leafs traded Marner and he stayed for a boat load of cash.
As for not getting much for him!! Teams give up a ton for UFA’s at the trade deadline so I’m sure that a whole season with a player is worth a good bit, even if he’s a ufa.

Your crazy if u Kraken boys think that’s a fair deal for a 40+ goal scorer.

Is he still a 40+ goal scorer on another team?

I think everyone can agree Draisaitl is a great player, but is he still a 100 point producer on another team?

There are drivers and there are passengers.

Huberdeau....
Tkachuk....

Evaluate the player, not the stat line.

People always expect these types of players to get massive hauls but the actual return is usually far less spectacular. Like I wrote, DeBrincat, a two time 40 goal scorer at the time of the trade, who was 3 years younger than Nylander is now and was a pending RFA instead of a UFA went for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick.

It’s a hard no for me. If you want to add a dynamic offensive player sign Tarasenk for only $ instead of cash and draft picks/prospects. Unless you think Willie is THE missing piece, which I don’t.

Willy just put up 40 goals, and has improved steadily each year. On a long term contract (something like 8 x $9M), he’d get a huge haul

Vince Dunn + 1st + 2nd

Or

Shane Wright + Oleksiak

Something like that

Aint going to get that for Willy. First Big Rig got a NTC. Odds are not getting Wright either. Dunn maybe but why would Toronto want ANOTHER UFA and offensive dman?

I dont either. And he's a headache when it comes to contracts too.

That said its all just a hypothetical of could they make such a trade. They could, though would tgey is a totally differeng matter

Rumour is Nylander wants up to 10 million on an extension. that probably puts him at around 10% of the cap in year 4 of an 8 yr deal (sign and trade). Do the Kraken want to pay that? Leafs, apparently, dont. I predict he stays in Toronto for the year.

That’s a good one.

Tell you what, I’ll counter with Dunn for Nylander + a 1st and a 2nd

Dynamic puck moving D are WAY more valuable than soft wingers.

Yeah that signing cost is killer, and if you dont you have him on expiring contract. Its a real bloody difficult move to make especially at a flat cap. Moving him odds are nobody is overpaying and really difficult to hit a homerun.

I don’t disagree that Seattle could make a deal work. They have everything that would be needed. I just think it would be stupid to do so, and I don’t believe Francis is stupid.

People also tend to forget that all trades are not in a vacuum.

40 goal scorer who has 4 yrs left on contract will get more than a 40 goal scorer becoming a UFA. Also depends on time of year, obviously demand goes up around TDL and teams pay more then they normally would.

Lmao your idea is an okay prospect and a 3rd round pick with a conditional 2nd

Every team in the league would match that offer.

How many teams have the ability to add a 7 million dollar player right now? Who will deal a bunch of assets for a player that will be UFA next season?

The Nylander deal return will be completely dependent on whether or not it allows the team that is trading for him to negotiate a contract in advance.

Stepping away from Seattle, I do think the Hurricanes with Pesce and Toronto are an interesting fit too.
