Battle of the overrates! - K-man25
Better than watching the Battle of teams that will miss the playoffs by 5 points. |

Should be a good game. Both teams can ice a lot of offensive talent. |

If the Oilers play like they have in the last 4-5 games vs BAD teams like OTT and CHI and barely won, this should be a leafs blowout. |

I would agree they played awful against Chicago. While the score was close in some other games I would not say Edmonton played those teams poorly.
vs Ottawa shots 46-30 for Oilers - 15-11 in High Danger Chances 5 on 5
vs Detroit shots 47-17 for Oilers - 11-3 in High Danger Chances 5 on 5
vs Montreal shots 41-24 for Oilers - 13-6 in High Danger Chances 5 on 5
You would like to have seen them capitalize on a maybe a few more chances but the Oilers overall outplayed each of those teams quite handily

You can thank the softies who banned controversial commenters like Iggy and Jero for that. Now the only controversial guys just say stupid poop and think they're driving hits like those 2 did. |

The comment section is definitely more entertaining with those 2 here.

I was at the MTL game and it was honestly one of the worst NHL games I've ever been to. The game was extremely slow, passes were off, the ice was very bad/soft, puck bouncing, so many whistles for offside and icing. Players were dogging it for both teams and it was really hard to watch. This was really the only reason it was close, the Habs just dragged EDM into the mud with them, it was very ugly.
Draisaitl was extremely lazy, McDavid was being "mugged" most of the game, and no one on either team really stood out. Nuge looked like he was either hungover or hurt (as did a lot of them). Honestly, Erne had the most energy from both teams, and maybe Evans on MTL.
Also, I know he got the winning goal in OT, but Bouchard looked worse than on TV, so slow, so disengaged, and absolute ZERO grind from this guy. It was hard to watch. Skinner and Montembault were both awesome in that game.

Oilers on an 11 game win streak and you're just a dark cloud of despair about this team. You must be fun at parties.

Your take on Bouchard is interesting. I don’t watch the Oil enough to say one way or another but I do know the games I have watched I think he’s a great young RD. He seems to be very poised on the power play, you can’t teach offense. I’d be interested to see what others think.
Now your take on Draisaitle seems like a personal opinion. I watched him dominate the Memorial cup that year with the Rockets. He was man playing boys, lost in the finals but was named the MVP of the tournament. Although I agree with some of the defensive disabilities you point out, still there isn’t a team in the league that wouldn’t want him. He’s #1 center on most teams, oilers are lucky they have 2-#1’s. Most teams are built down the middle and on the backend. Holland should have fixed the D this summer when he had a chance.
