First.

I like Ceci. Unlike the "intangibles" that Brown brings I see Ceci as a key part of the team's success. He is being greatly underestimated. Solid player.

I doubt the Oilers are looking at moving Ceci. He's providing solid, low event defense. This team is rolling and Holland isn't the kind of guy to galactibrain himself into spending assets to solve a problem he doesn't have.

Seth Jones and Darnell Nurse on the same pairing would be fun for everyone not an oilers fan

I wouldn’t mind trying to add Provorov as an upgrade on Kulak. Plus the amount of people in the city that would cry about him refusing to wear a pride jersey last year would be amazing.

Don't trade Ceci. Need to add depth on RD not subtract!

Do you think Connor McDavid proved he is the best hockey player right now with his dominance at the skills competition or should we not look into it too much.

Also with all this talk about centers and bringing in center depth, what if we maybe looked at bringing back Big Richard Bjugstad.

Yes it proved he is the best of the best

(frank) Bjugstad. If he wanted to be here he would’ve re-signed here. And he wasn’t a great fit last year either. His numbers were pretty subpar when he came here.

If we want to target another forward and part with major assets to do it, I’d be looking at someone like Alex Tuch in Buffalo. He’s big, he hits, he plays big minutes, he has 2 more years left on his contract after this one. Also it’s rumoured that Buffalo has been looking at Campbell, who has been playing very well down in Bakersfield lately. Maybe we can rid ourselves of his contract at the same time.

To Buffalo: Campbell, Broberg, 2024 1st and 2nd rounders

To Edmonton: Tuch at 50% retained

Wishful thinking most likely but hopefully Holland can deliver some help before the deadline with Vancouver and Winnipeg already getting their guys

Tuch’s from Buffalo, he’d be an awesome pickup and I’m sure he’d love to stick it to Vegas if he can. Unfortunately I think the cost to get rid of Campbell would be far greater than you are proposing.
Also why would the Oilers want to add a forward when the D is so thin?

I don’t think Campbell will be as hard to get rid of now that he’s playing so well in the minors. Since he picked up Manny Legace as his private goalie coach his confidence is much higher. Don’t get me wrong, his contract sucks ass, but there’s been rumblings of people within the hockey USA world willing to take a risk on him. If teams want 2- 1st rounders to take on the contract, I say we just keep him as an emergency call up in case Skinner or Pickard get injured, and then worry about it in the offseason.

And as for adding a forward over another defenseman, I hope they do both. I would love to keep Broberg to be that guy in the playoffs as he’s having an all star kind of season in the AHL and can play both sides, but you need to pay to play and a big strong forward like Tuch to dig the puck out of the corners would do wonders for our 2nd line. A lot of guys want Guentzel, but I’d much rather grab someone big and physical than a smaller skilled guy for the playoffs. And Tuch has term on his deal.

I was at the Allstar weekend festivities and McDavid is just truly amazing. You guys are lucky that get to see him live on a regular basis. My son got to meet most of the players over the weekend and I found it very interesting how some of the players carry themselves off the ice, around fans, around family, etc. One of the guys that I found to be just an outstanding human was Boone Jenner, he took quite a lot of time with my son, asked questions about his hockey, the family, etc. and I know that he's the kind of player this team needs. Hopefully the rumours are true and we manage to land this guy, he seems like a real gem, a winner.

Also, beating a dead horse here, but Leon was an arrogant kid. If Crosby has time for the kids, then maybe you should give back just a tiny bit Leon.

And the Kucherov criticism is real, wow was he pathetic in the skills comp. He looked like Trudeau at the G8 meetings where nobody wanted to talk to him. Kuch just sat there with no friends, most of the time surfing on his phone actually...haha
(He stepped it up for the actual game though, man that guy can play. Probably the best hockey sense off of the puck in the whole league).

Another big surprise was how great Brady Tkachuk was with the kids and families.
