Trouble scoring you say?

How strange. Brown in the pressbox? Absurd. Everyone knows Browns excellent "two way" play is what caused Edmonton to roll out so many wins.

I cant imagine how sitting someone of Browns prestigious "two way" play is going to help the Oilers out of a scoring funk...

In all seriousness, its amazing that with the Anchor/Black hole that is Conner Brown offensively hasnt hurt the Oilers far more than it has. Every player on the Oilers must have sore backs from carrying around that sack o crap.

Looking forward to the game tonight. Wings will need to use their speed and try to take away time and space from Edmonton. Can't give up 47 shots like the last time these teams played. Will be a good test for Detroit. They better play good team defense or it will be a long night.

I truly think that everyone in Oil country has gotten things very backwards. The team was doing horribly because their "team" was nit playing defensively...meanwhile no trouble scoring. YEAH...DUH...nobody fkn backcheckwd! Lol
Meanwhile everyone vilified the tenders and defense...like...for 14yrs! It was always the poor defensive play of the run n gun lazy forwards.

Now, the forwards ate buying in and playing complete games, and guess what? With Nurse not performing, we have zero dmen who can distribute the puck. A breakout starts behind the goal line, and all 6 of our dmen are brain dead when it comes to the exit pass. Ekholm is fine actually...especially considering what he brings defensively.

The PP is worse, scoring is worse...but the team is better defensively. It's because the fwds play harder and play their positions now.

We need a 1st pair dman who can move the puck.

I've got a high mileage Seth Jones if you are interested. No idea how you would be able to afford him, but when has that ever stopped a GM?

Doubtful the American Seth Jones is waiving his NMC to go to Edmonton. He probably took less money to get that in his contract and he will probably not waive it for a Canadian city. Even if he did, the cap hit is massive and Adams isn't retaining for that length.

Yikes, Jones is a Nurse level contract overpay, what do you think he was asking for before agreeing to that "less money for no Canadian club" thing you speak of?

What an amazing outlet pass by Bouchard! Who would ever trade that guy? Just silliness

At least $500k less per year for that. Players getting a NMC in their contract usually will exercise it and if he weren't, he would have been shopped by now as CHI has been in their rebuild with no signs of getting out soon.

8 goals for the Oilers... and somehow Brown not on the score sheet... again.

Brown is where offense goes to die. He makes the Belanger triangle look like a great place to get out of a scoring slump.

He should have been sent down yesterday.

His head-up outlet pass on Holloway's goal was fantastic! No doubt.
He rarely does this though, and he was under the gun in his own zone several times again.

Look, Bouchard is an extremely promising young D-man but WAY over-hyped, and his hockey sense is a B- at best. His grind however, is a D-, he needs to put forth more effort.

Put it this way, if he can't be the 1st pair RD and their worried about losing Ceci...maybe Bouch isn't as amazing as u think.

All of this trading Broberg talk is very scary, his ceiling is so much higher than Bouchard, who might be at his now.

Whatever it is, it would be even better with someone capable in his position.

4 assists in 42 games and a -8.

The Jeff Marek show is such a joke. 2 hour hockey talk show on this morning and no discussion at all about McDavids amazing performance last night. It's supposed to be a show about all NHL news but it's so Eastern biased its nauseating.

Marek is usually pretty good. About 70% of the population lives out east so he has to somewhat cater to that fan base. If you don't like it you could always create your own show. See how many people listen to that.

I see you finally stopped the "plan the parade" comment after every Oilers win. Guess it would have looked even more ridiculous to post while they were winning 16 in a row.

Well if majority of Oiler fans weren't screaming that the sky was falling after every loss or that they were Cup favorites after every win I wouldn't need to satirize them.
