From last blog:

I think Harris suffers from not being great at anything.

He's not really strong or physical.

He's not very fast.

Doesn't have that great of a shot.

Doesn't move the puck very quickly.

etc.

You could turn this argument and say he's overall well rounded and it's true. The young man is also good or ok at all these things. But I feel he'll need to find what his role on the team is if he's gonna keep playing over the numerous young prospects that we have.

Well Josh was elite at blocking shots.

Mind you, Harris can play in the NHL. I have absolutely no issues with him on a third pair as he makes very little mistakes.

left side

Matheson
Ghule
Hutson
Engstrom
Struble
Harris
JackEye

Assuming Engstrom and Hutson will spend a year in the AHL, one of JackEye, Harris and Struble can be moved.

I'd like to see more of Engstrom, I think we have an understanding of how Hutson might turn out, whether that is a top 2 or top 4, to be decided.

That's a big IF imho.

But yeah, we look ripe to trade a LHD in the offseason imho.

I know Guhle has proven he can play on the right side but let's be honest, he'd be even better on the left side.

Once Reinbacher (arriving in March) and Mailloux are ready on the right side, Ghule goes back to his natural left side. Barron....I am not sure, he seems to have a VERY fragile confidence level.

that's why I assume he will need a full year in Laval, get used to the smaller ice, physical play but many "expert" seem to be pretty high on him but I never say him play.

Harris and WiFi have has mediocre seasons so far - injuries and AHL time have not helped push their NHL stock.

I like what Struble has done so far this season - did not expect this much from him. But I would like to see him in more games before deciding which should be traded.

If nothing else, I think Struble makes WiFi a little more expendable, yet I feel WiFi is pretty safe (and they plan to keep him for the 5-6-7 spot on D).

I think Harris might be the odd man out, which is too bad, because I think he will have a long (if un-flash-y) NHL career.

At his best this year. He looked pretty damn good. Also went back in the AHL and is clearly one of the best players there.

Bottom line, I ain't throwing the towel on him yet.

without the big slapshot

PS: SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

Barron is a good skater, good on the PP to move the puck but decision making in his zone....ish...tends to be difficult.

Lesser shot, but it seems to be accurate, and Baron is bigger and more physical (but that is not saying much).

It is the defensive part of the game that really worries me, he is a turn over machine, too.

He'll either need to get better at it or become so good offensively that we can live with his problems.

I'm betting on the first one really.
