I'm glad that they were able to have Mario and Francis there front and center for Jagr's ceremony. That trio defined a decade (and more) of Penguins hockey. They should be on the wall together.

So when/if Jake gets traded where do you think are his top Destinations? I am thinking Vancouver, Vegas, and Edmonton.

Im putting Dallas and Vegas at the top of the list.

Dallas, Boston, Toronto, Vegas, Colorado all have the assets and make a lot of sense.

LA Kings - Not sure they really want to go in on it this year but they have a ton of potential assets and Jake would be a great fit for them.

Edmonton - Makes a lot of sense but I feel like Holland is too cheap.
Vancouver - Do they still have the assets or want another high price rental?
Carolina - GM came out and said he doesn't like paying out for rentals.

Next "puff piece" will be about mario's awards vs sids. Forget about guentzl's injury and the trade deadline approaching. Let's bring the past back up yet again. Typical. It was just a matter of time for this enlightenment to forget about what's truly not going on the ice. I see they brought sheary back, I mean phillips and he was promoted to the 2nd line. I'm looking for other players that are 5'7 or shorter that GM sullivan can try to get.

I'm starting to miss hextal.

How we feeling about tonight? Nail in the Coffin or Plan the Parade game?

Feels like the Pens are due for one of their everything goes right games.

Me too. That is definitely the ideal scenario. I think Zona or someone would facilitate it where they eat half his cap and get a 2nd from LV and we get nothing but the roster space.

I'd have loved to see us make a bunch of moves, get a new coach and try for a run. At this point though I'd rather just lose and swear off all hope I think.

Eating half of Smith's cap hit would be a terrible idea. His contract has another year on it.

The thing that really sucks about trading any of these guys is not having time to see this team under a different coaching staff.

Will preface this by saying I do not think they are making it in, anyway, however this kinda feels like their season really on the line tonight. Divisional game vs a team slightly ahead of them in standings with a few games in hand on them. They lose this in regulation its back breaking.

No matter what happens I'll be pleased to watch Sid doing Sid things...

Is Carter on the 2nd line and number 1 PP?

I'd love Jake but yeah if he's going the UFA route then Canes aren't going to approach him.

Now if you let teams talk to his ahead of time and work out a deal, now we might be on to something.

I saw Dallas, Vegas, and Tampa as potential destinations for Smith. I also heard Toronto (I assume a swap).

Yeah, I would refuse to eat any cap hit beyond this year unless there was a prospect that I really wanted. Not doing that for a mid round pick. With the UFA's....yeah definitely eat cap. Bump up the return.

Was thinking the same thing. Could we let Jake work out a sign-and-trade? Jake will score goals for you in the playoffs.

Kind of feel like were about to go into a tail spin. I'm normally pretty positive, but It's really become a one man team with no Jake. Can't get any consistent production from anybody else.

Since you are here....

I am probably the only one here, but I would love to take advantage of the need for top goalies right now on cup competitive teams. Carolina, Toronto and New Jersey to name a few.

Would you be down for a Jarry for Andersen, the Flyers 2nd & Canes 2nd trade? Also curious how you value Drury?

Trade Jarry for Campbell +,+,+ and resign Ned and roll with him for a few years. Bring Flower back next year for a retirement tour and then move everyone at the end of 2025 TDL

I wouldn't trade for a goalie.

I like Drury but think he's overplayed in his role right now. Probably a 3/4C long term.
