Thanks NYN. Hopefully they can get some players healthy and get some lines moving again. Lindholm not playing well. Needs to be better.

Thanks NYN, good to gut out a 2-1 win, warrior of the game goes to Juulsen, player of the game to Hoglander.

Both those guys were noticeable last night. Juulsen turned out to be a decent find, hits like a Mack truck.

Really like how he's turned his game around from the beginning of the year. He's clearly a good student, took to Foote's and Gonchar's coaching well

There might not be a player on the team I'm happier for when he has a big game than Hoglander, love the way he's put his head down and worked after being sent down to the AHL last year. Hope for the same from Podkolzin.

I've hated Juulsen's game for the most part since he joined the Canucks, but I have to admit this last stretch he has looked pretty good, always nice to have another guy who can just randomly blow people up with huge hits.

Couple tidbits from Dayal:

- It was Vancouver’s best defensive performance of the season according to Natural Stat Trick’s expected goals model

- Hughes drove a commanding 18-8 edge in five-on-five shots during his shifts. As for Höglander, he’s now top 10 in the NHL for five-on-five goals.

-Garland on Podk:
“Having Podz helped tonight — how he forechecked, how he gets in, physical presence, a shot threat,” said Garland. “He has a bigger body and uses it, it kind of adds another presence to our line.

“He’s a really good kid, fun to work with. I told him before the game, ‘Just play free, relax, just get in and forecheck and we’ll have a good night.’

“For me, you probably need an F1 and F2 (on the forecheck) to be tight and try to get pucks back and that’s what he excelled at. He probably has a similar sense to Dak (Dakota Joshua) in that sense where it’s good to have an F1 and F2 that read off each other well.”

Great idea by Benning to get a farm team of their own. Starting to show results already. Many analysts said it would take a few years to see results if they were doing it right.

Athletic and young, lots of time for him to improve in the AHL.

Yeah I think the difference has been obvious immediately. I know the Sedins like to spend time with guys in Abby, I'm sure the support system there is great.

Before they had maybe less than half the team as Canucks prospects and they were playing bottom of the line up. Utica's team was to win not develop.

And still just 24 years old!!

Fewest games to reach a 40 assist season - Defenceman in @Canucks history:
40- Quinn Hughes (2023-24)
45- Hughes (2022-23)
47- Paul Reinhart (1988-89)
53- Hughes (2021-22)
60- Hughes (2019-20)
63- Filip Hronek (2023-24 via 1 in tonight's 2-1 win vs ANA)
65- Doug Lidster (1986-87)

Purple ribbons all around for Podkolzin.

No points, shots, or registered hits, but Vasily Podkolzin finished the game fifth among forwards in CF% (63.64) and fourth in xGF% (75.14) over 12:39 of ice in his season debut. #Canucks

He worked his butt off and certainly looked right at home. Overall, great stuff.

Yeah, that’s real nice and all, but he actually looked good watching the game, I’m shocked that I missed the CF% and the xCF% while watching the kid work his ass off.
