Will this Couturier situation lead to an inevitable trade? Can't see much of a market without the Flyers retaining a decent chunk. Even then would a team really be willing to roll the dice with 6 years left?

Afternoon game against the Bruins. Hard to imagine this is going to go well. Curious to see if the team captain will be allowed to play.

Torts seems not to get along with anyone.....if he wants Couturier out.....who is next and how many will he run out of town?

I believe they reported on NHL.com that Marchand is going to play today. Not sure.

Hopefully the team captain picks up his game and earns back his ice time.

Can a 13 year veteran better realize that he needs to pick up his game sitting in the press box versus remaining in the lineup? If so why?

Bill,

Any thoughts of when we’ll see Barkey? Is he a candidate for a ten game October try-out in your mind?

What is wrong with being held accountable? He is being paid, in guaranteed money, to play to a certain standard. He is not.
He was moved down the lineup, his ice time was shortened. This happens from Pee Wee hockey on down. A hockey player knows what this means.

He did not get the message. Benching is next.
It is so obvious so many Flyer fans have never put on a pair of skates before.

Getting benched is normal. It a part of the deal. Now its up to Coots to respond...or quit.

Im tired of hearing this "accountable" bullpoop. Accountable for what? You think Coots doesnt know he needs to play better? As if scratching him he is sitting up there saying, oh my god, I have to play better, why didn't I think of that sooner? Its (frank)ing stupid. Coots isnt some rookie, he knows what he has to do.

Puhlleehz. Accountable. What a joke.

What is he getting held accountable for? For working back from an almost 2 season absence and two major surgeries. From being run into the ground by the coach and being overplayed 19-20 minutes a game in the first half of the season. Where the coach admitted that his minutes should've been limited but felt they needed to do that to win. He didn't get the message? What are you talking about? This is a 13 year veteran who has played his ass off. Won a Selke trophy and has been a strong player his entire career. This is not a not getting the message situation. This is a physical situation.

Here is what is obvious. From your asinine comment here that some fans have never put on a pair of skates to your previous comment that I'm so often wrong. It is exactly what I thought. That I don't need to take that comment seriously because you're a knucklehead with no clue and no sense of what is going on.

Now it's he should respond or quit. What a dumb ass comment.

Any particular reason why Couturier was a complete stud in the first half of the season and now on the bench?

Talk about standard. Maybe the moronic coach needs to look in the mirror. He has tucked his tail between his legs after the game for two games straight now.

All of this talk of standard and culture is meant to reel in easy marks like yourself.

Also when you have to bring up having played hockey before, you lost the argument.

Played my entire life and through college. This is not what accountability is for a 13 yr vet. And truly it doesn’t matter if someone played or not to have an informed opinion.

The standard. New era of orange. That apparently applies from the top down throughout the organization. There are rules in place by the league that mandates the coach be available to the press. Why do the standards of the league and the team not apply to the coach again? Frost is a professional. Brink is too. So is Courturier. Isn’t the coach? C’mon Torts, man up and face the press. And while you’re at it, please inform us all why you didn’t go for the win in OT with your best offensive players glued to the bench!

But it doesn't hurt.

We used to complain about snowflake players (not saying Coots is one) but now we are overrun with snowflake fans.

You continue to be uninformed. Stop wasting my time. Come at me with something intelligent. You can't. All you can do is say you disagree. You're the guy who says "I'm going to kick your ass" and then runs away.

Well...if you played you would know getting benched is a part of the deal. Coots ain't a superstar. He is not immune to this. He is an good player who is a little over paid not playing up to par. It is now on him to decide to man up or sulk.

You shouldn't throw insults. It is not nice, plus it is well known you are the dumbest guy on here for over a decade. We all try to be polite...but its tough.

Is this an example of you showing that I'm the dumbest guy on here? Seriously? You're making foolish statements. Resorting to fallacies. My agenda has been fulfilled. Your comments are not anything that I need to take seriously. I love guys like you that talk nonsense and can't back it up.

You have not been polite to me. You reap what you sow. Now you're just whining about it.

The best part is you really think the press is going to grill him to call him out? They wouldn't though yes as the leader and coach he needs to make an appearance.

Okay, how can you say that York was sent down last year due to personality issues and not because of poor play? The player himself admitted that he didn't play well enough. He is now excelling and turning into one of the Flyers best defenders. Frost is now excelling after he went into Torts' office and told him to puck off. Yet, you always focus on the negatives and put Torts in a negative light. Foerster has excelled and TK has become a new man under Torts. I could go on and on, but you would just continue to focus on all the negatives. You do you! Thanks!
