Bill Meltzer: Wrap: Flyers Pass Huge Test, Beat Boston - bmeltzer
Bill I have criticized you lately. Yesterday though you had a couple good points. One Torts most definitely shouldn’t have sent out the assistant to answer post game questions. That was ridiculous. You expect your leaders to face the music. You as a coach should do the same. Especially after making such a bold move. I didn’t like that and if I was gm I would make sure it was the last time. Second you gave torts credit for changing the culture. This change should have been made 8 years ago. This team plays hard almost every night. I attribute that to the power upper management has given torts. Like it or not announcing early that torts was part of the process made this year’s success possible |

Foresters shot even tho tslightly deflected is elite. Such a powerful and quick release. Hope he continues to develop bc the Flyers sure could use his skill set. Kid is a joy to watch honestly.
All around great game. Hopefully this is the end of the Couts circus. Glad to see torts actually address the media after the game. Couts was great in postgame and sounded like a Captain.
This crew looks like it is playoff bound.

4-3-1 in this gauntlet. At worst 4-5-1. That will play just fine. |

I thought there was pretty much a 0% chance Frost would be on the Flyers next summer. Looks like I will be wrong and very pleased. He is creating a lot of offense. I wish they would move him to the right half boards on the PP and play the Voracek role. Rocky Thompson is out of his depth, hopefully the PP structure changes next season. |

If they can get 1 win out of the next 2 games they will make the playoffs. |

Sat in my local watering hole in south Jersey. Bartenders turned off the sound to collage hoops and amped up the Flyers sound. Fun game to watch. Looking forward to the local haters take. |

His confidence is sky high. I think he finally understands what kind of player he can be.

The front office seems very high on this kid.
I don't know much about him but he seems like an old school shutdown Dman from what I've read.
Let's hope he hits his ceiling or close to it.
Also, I'm really liking Ginning. If the Flyers let him walk it'll be a mistake in my humble armchair GM opinion. The kid is holding his own against some top talent in the NHL |

The Tippett-Frost-TK line is really fast. The 2 wingers compliment Frost's play making abilities very well. The line is doing it against playoff teams down the stretch. It's a really fun line to watch. |

Will the 2023 flyers draft be the best draft we've had in a long time?
While it won't be anything like Dallas taking heiskenen, Robertson, and oettinger all in the same draft I think this crop of picks has potential to alter the course for this franchise.
Time will tell but I'm excited to see these kids come to the NHL |

You can see the difference.
I just wonder if torts had had this talk with Frost long ago that Frost would have been playing this way sooner.
It's neither here nor there at this point but I do wonder what if...
Either way, he's becoming a player to build a team with. He's still young enough to continue growing and developing his all around game |

Nashville is on a tear. I didn't realize they've gone 14-0-2 in their last 16 games. |

Both Barkey and Bonk seem like they have some potential for sure. Michkov is going to be a star.

Time will tell. For me, the '03 draft was the best Flyers draft in the last 25 yrs. Richards and Carter were drafted- 3 Stanley Cup finals and won it twice. Like most of Flyers history, it was a very good run during their time with the Flyers, just missed out on the ultimate prize. This never gets old.

Of course! Nothing for the haters to complain about after a win over Boston...plus it was a day game! I thought it would be a rough one today...happy to say I was wrong.
