Looking at the remaining schedule for the Flyers and Capitals, I would say tonight's game is as close to a must win game for the Flyers as they will have all season. With the Caps idle tonight, this will be the Caps' third game in hand against the Flyers. If the Flyers lose tonight I don't see them holding on to 3rd place.

The Flyers are not currently in third place. They can't hold onto something that they do not possess. The Capitals currently are third in the Metro the Flyers are in the 2nd wild card spot

The Flyers right now are tied for the 3rd spot, they are listed below the Caps because of point percentage only, which I could care less about. Do you want to Troll on minutia or actually discuss hockey?

They’re right for calling you out, I’m sorry. If the season ended today there would be no tie.

It's only minutia in your small mind. To the rest of the hockey world and everyone else, point percentage matters and its what is used to differentiate between teams who have not played the same amount of games. You continue to show a lack of grasp of the most simplest of things. Do you still believe the Flyers are an above .500 team?

Stating that the Flyers are no longer in the 3rd spot in the Metro, is most definitely hockey talk. Something else that escapes you.

Points% is how places in the standings are determined when teams haven't played the same number of games.

That's why it's used for waiver claims.

But the season isn't over today, and the Caps and Flyers have the same number of points. The Caps are listed in 3rd because they have played two less games that the Flyers, thus they are listed in 3rd because of point percentage. But in reality, the teams are tied for 3rd place because unlike some morons on this forum, the NHL does not decide what place a team is in based on point percentage, but instead based on actual points. This is the last post I will give on this topic. If you all want to argue points versus point percentage .. have at it, I have better things to do.

You couldn't actually talk hockey because if it's not in a stat sheet, you wouldn't know where to begin. Have fun reading the latest capology reports, troll.

So to recap the past few days.

Ersson is NOT a rookie, and the Flyers ARE in 3rd place.

Forget 3rd place, they will be lucky to hold on to the 2nd WC slot. Losing to the Habs could be written off as a letdown game, but when you go on to be embarrassed at home by one of the dregs of the league, it’s not a letdown anymore.

The Flyers are in freefall and I don’t see them throwing a switch and turning things around.

Start Fedotov tonight. Yes, it's an important game but it's also a rebuilding year.

There's a good chance he could fair well for a time, even if he's not acclimated. Teams don't know him and he's HUMONGOUS BIG.

Bring Bryz back to do post games.

If they start Fedotov, Zamula, Gurianov, have the flyers ever started 3 Russians in a game?

In reality, they are not tied. Washington is ahead based on points percentage. Which is why Washington is listed in the 3rd Metro spot and the Flyers are listed in the 2nd wild card spot. You're calling other people who are correct on this, morons while not understanding the simple concept of how the NHL standings work. It takes a special type of person to double down on stupidity as you have. Even after a simple concept is explained to you.

I think the Flyers are going to win tonight. This team has shown up against good teams all year, and I don't believe two games makes a freefall. They will reset.

With what I’ve seen the last two games, I think the playoffs altogether are gone. I expect them to lay another egg tonight as they always struggle vs the isles. I want them to make it, but I just can’t see us righting the ship. Zero special teams. Some times this team drives me nuts hah

You spend literally all day, every day, arguing with countless posters about such things as rookie status and points percentage .. and I'm the idiot? Get a life! You're almost right about one thing, if it wasn't so tragic it would be humorous.

You have to get Fedotov in at some point and I’d be fine with it. They probably want a few more practices before throwing him in but he’s backing up so Ersson could go down or we could be getting destroyed and he’s in.

They have to right the ship on the PK. That has been a huge factor for them all season. If that continues to falter, going to be difficult.
