I'd offer 2 x $1.5 - might go as high as 2MM AAV. Prefer closer to $1.5. If he starts pulling his brother's crap - waiting for the bigger number, trade him. Pittsburgh might take him back . . . for a conditional draft pick !! Nylander's 10 goals might have put the Penguins in the playoffs.

You guys must know my mind I’m in that ballpark today as well. Season isn’t over. But one short hot streak to a career of underachieving moments isn’t worth breaking the bank over. Leave the new management to decide. If it’s JD I’m not sure. If it’s a Hunter or Nash maybe something different

Give Nylander a one-year prove it deal at a good salary so he stays in Columbus.

If you have not heard, it just came out that Boone Jenner and his wife lost a baby when the little one was stillborn on March 31st. It is about as horrible a situation as 2 parents can face.

He wasn't going to score 10 goals in Pittsburgh because he wasn't going to get the same oppotunities.

He's a bottom-6 player at best. I'd qualify him to see if he can finally put it together over more than a handful of games.
