At least they didn’t quit like Flyers did. Both teams are probably better off in the long run. Both teams were better than the year before, and hopefully trending forward. Silly to lose in the first round in 4 or 5. Make more moves that look toward the future, and maybe we’ll see another Flyers-wings series down the road.

Despite the hyperbole about this being a must win...it actually wasn't. They are 1 point behind with 4 games to play. Not the end of the world. I said a couple of games ago...treat the last 6 games like a playoff series. Win 4 and make the real playoffs. That series is now 1-1. Three of these next 4 are against teams currently out of the playoffs. They control their destiny.

Not the end of the world.....but you can see it from here.
They can use it to inspire or to doom, they still have a choice.

Was a solid game until we gave up the 1st goal. Seider took a tumble, shots grew eyes, Ovi's a beast... I mean, the game was definitely one needed to put WAS a bit further back. There are still games left, though. Have a feeling this may well go to the home n home vs. MTL....could be wrong. Each game is DEFINITELY a SCPO game as Buzzed stated, great analogy.

I still say as disappointing as it may be to miss the SCPO, this has been one HELL of a run, fraught with frustration and wondering if making it only to be bounced is worth it. I can see it being of benefit and not. The thing I think we need to focus on is areas of improvement, but also those glaring holes. Eddy's been as expected; solid with some hiccups. We need a ztronger D team-wide, and stability in net. We need a flashy C to free up Larkin's constant carrying the team on his back.

Still a good team. It's like any Family, though: buncha good folks with a couple of crazies you keep in the basement!!!

I knew if they didn't score first they'd lose this game... The fact they didn't score in the first period with all those shots and great scoring chances didn't sit well with me going into the 2nd period. I wanted Detroit to bury them early... didn't happen. Lindgren stole this game for them. Wings just gotta forget this game and get ready for Pittsburgh. That will be a tough game.

Copp out with a broken cheek bone. There will probably be a call-up from GR I'd expect.
