Please explain how this is different than the Hextall retool.

12th overall. In a “rebuilding year”, where they moved one player in Sean Walker.

Outdated/arrogant team, obsessed with its past, intangibles, and some bullpoop construction worker culture.

In a league that finds ways to infuse stars every single season, the Flyers continue to try to sell a fanbase on secondary bullpoop.

At least the alumni are happier than under Ron.

Lehigh Valley is currently mired in a 0-for-29 and 1-for-42 drought on the power play that dropped their leaguewide power play ranking from first to 19th.

Sounds like the big club except obviously the Flyers set a league record being last in PP for 3 straight years. That and being 24th in points gets you into the AHL playoffs whereas 21st in points does not get the Flyers in.

It sounds like they are keeping Rocky as pp coach but will have others in the organization chip in. This is total b.s. Sharp, Leclair, and the rest of the retirees were all here this season, where was their magic input then?

The amount of control that Torts has over this organization is sickening. No competent GM would allow Rocky to go into 24-25 as the pp coach. Briere is either incompetent or a stooge.

tells you who is running the show at the nhl level. torts torts torts. danny boy is a puppet.

So they are going got have heatley and sharpe "consult" with rocky. 2 guys with zero experience coaching helping a guy who is clearly incompetent.

just pure ego from the gm/coach. to allow this guy to still run the PP is a joke. the 3 stooges are clowns

Again, I'll take a wait and see to see if this changes, but bringing that guy back as the PP coach would be a travesty and grounds for firing the head coach IMO!

With the playoffs starting today I guess I'll make my picks. I'm gonna go with the Canes in the east (no shocker there) and I'm picking the Jets to come out of the west. I think they are sneaky good and put some good cash on them. I think the Canes win the Cup and we all lament about Brindy not being our coach as he holds the silver chalice over his head.

Don’t feel too bad for Danny at all. He doesn’t have to make any major decisions. It’s all dictated to him and he just has to execute. No stake in the game. He really is a puppet on a string.

As for Rocky staying on board, not surprising. The accountability mantra is pure projection by management. Because they have none, accountability out the wazoo for the players.

Based on twitter replies it’s working. A lot of easy marks in Flyerdumb. I’m reading a lot of year 1 of rebuild. What? It’s been 10+ years you dopes.

Why give them the benefit of the doubt and play the waiting game? This is you getting the wool pulled over your eyes.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for this summer. If Rocky Thompson is the PP coach at the start of next season then Torts should be fired if he wants to die on that hill. No one is pulling the wool over my eyes. I'll judge this team on what it looks like on October 1st. WE will know then if it is status quo and more of the same. I think many folks on here are jumping to conclusions based on the past. I'm not saying anyone is wrong, but I'm guessing no one actually has a crystal ball to know what's going to happen this summer.

I picked the Canes at the start of the season, but I'm wavering a bit on them. That's who I'll be rooting for nonetheless.

The answer to the PP is to listen to Patrick Sharp in between bites of campos cheesesteaks. Like the players won’t be distracted by the cheesewizz leaking onto the bench. Why are they wasting our time? If they are not serious about getting the best resources for the on ice product to push ahead, then strip it down and tank!

Decades of status quo isn't enough for you? You need to see one more off season to see what they'll do. Understandable.

I keep reading comments from Briere.....
- "We are not giving up on the youth"
- "We need more high end talent"
- "We are not going after talent at the expense of youth" and finally
- "We are not doing a FA long term deals"
Does a situation like this actually exist in today's NHL? Fact of the matter is.....
- if you add talent via FA you can only go long term
- you can really only draft high end talent if you draft early, i.e. tank
- if you want established non-FA talent you have to give up on the youth

It sounds like they really have no concept of today's NHL..

all they did was talk talk talk with no real plan. pure incompetence. just more losing on the horizon. not even entertaining losing at that or well he we have this to look forward to type of losing.

it will never change until ownership changes. Then holds people accountable.

When you read through the twitter posts, Instagram, the athletic, etc etc etc, the fanbase eats it up. The whole tough lunch pail attitude they push is digested like candy, and they bend over like Kevin Bacon screaming thank you sir may I have another.

They love Torts, they think what he did was a miracle and the right way to do everything.

The fanbase is as hopeless as ownership and the FO.

They'll turn eventually. By then this team will have another new "plan" and new talking points.
