Leafs return to action Saturday nightat home against Carolina. Then they head out on the road for four games. The jury is still out on Matthews and Marner at the Four Nations Face-Off, but Nylander didn't score in Sweden's three games, he only had three shots on net. This isn't the Willie we know. Nylander hasn't scored since his hat-trick against Calgary, that's five games. There's good news, he's scored against the Canes this season.

The bad news is Carolina has won 5 straight against the Leafs.

Historical reference time. We just past the anniversary of Sittler's 10 point game. What's interesting is, it came during an 11 game point streak that he had (12G, 15A). During that span, Lanny MacDonald had 22 points. Despite the play of these two, Leafs won 6 of the 11 games. This historical Leafs moment has been brought to you by the Dominion Leafs calendar.

Leafs dropped their last game 2-1 in Vancouver, coming off a successful 3-1 road trip.
Stolarz has only ever played against the Canes once in his career and it was almost 8 years ago.
Tavares has played the most amongst active Leafs against Hurricanes. 56 points including 29 goals in 49 games played.

Saturday night NHL is back, 14 games on the schedule as the chase for the playoffs takes it up a notch.
