The draft is approaching at an alarmingly fast rate, and the discussions within the Flyers organization are leading me to believe that they could either have the second pick, the fourth pick, or the sixth pick in this draft, depending on who they are willing to part with.

The Flyers are definitely looking for a center; however, with the to pick, it’s always possible that they take the best player available and try to fill the center spot with a UFA signing or an offer sheet. They contain an incredible stable of prospects right now and are considering most options.

The most likely chance of them grabbing a center would be at the number two spot, of course, because there will be a couple of stellar centers available.

I know they’ve talked to Utah, and I know they’ve talked to San Jose. Those are the only two teams I’ve heard so far where discussions have begun regarding moving up. That doesn’t mean they haven’t talked to the other teams in the top 5. I just haven’t heard about it yet.
