Trudeau to resign before Wednesday.

That sucks. I’d hoped he would stay and try to win another election.

You really are dense

I’ve said multiple times he’s been the worst PM the country has ever had.
I only wanted him to try to run again because it would all be over for him and the liberals. This way they get to buy time and elect a new leader who will become PM and delay an election.

Use your brain idiot. Oh I forgot…you don’t have one.

Good and bad. Good he’s gone. But bad as we’ll now have a prolonged leadership search then that leader will be given time to try to turn things around. We won’t get an election until fall now.

Better chance of a minority gov't in that case.

I actually believe that of all politicians in Canada I'd prefer to have a Doug Ford administration than anyone else.

I also cannot believe I just typed that.

As I mentioned to VHG; there is no such thing as a conservative minority. If that happens we’ll get all the left banding together again to form a coalition. Which is exactly what we’ve had for the last 6 years. It’s either a conservative majority, or just more of the same crap with NDP’s getting a bunch of their agenda through in order to keep the left coalition afloat.

(frank) that.

If a minority conservative is elected it’ll just be more chaos and spending.

If the bloc takes a huge portion of Quebec there would be a true minority conservative government, especially if Cardy's party can take some seats. If the NDP, Green and Liberal parties don't have a majority amongst them they can't have a coalition.

Having parties require support on bills (including spending) is how true governing is done.

It's very strange how all Green Party members and voters get portrayed as far left. The common theme among the Green Party is the environment. Social and economic beliefs are far ranging. Elizabeth May had some very good ideas, it's too bad nobody else has the balls to implement them.

Such as? I have yet to see a green party’s economic policy that was not economic suicide.

Modernizing public energy infrastructure, de-centralizing government, homeowners tax credits for upgrading their energy efficiency, making it less costly to the homeowner, payroll taxes on automated services such as self checkout.

We currently subsidize companies to extract our resources and profit off of them, it's (frank)ing ridiculous.

lol. I don’t agree with any of those. The utility companies should manage the infrastructure. De-centralizing government would lead to more bureaucracy, tax credits is just giving wealthy people tax breaks funded by public money, payroll taxes on self checkout is just another Un-necessary tax.

We need less spending on junk programs. More efficient government. Lower taxes.

So we replace jobs with automation and give the corporations a pass

Then you want lower taxes.....

I know you’re a union shill.

Automation comes with different types of job creation. Just need more skill than swiping groceries through a scanner.

I wonder what a flat income tax for all would look like? Say 15% across the board with a $25,000 per year minimum. Could we reduce the staffing numbers on the CRA? Could we stop the rich from evading paying taxes? Would that offset the reduction in yearly government take? Could you create a situation where Canadians are more than happy to contribute a fair tax amount to a civilized society?

Problem is taxes have become an industry onto its own. The amount of people employed to manage the tax system is outrageous. You might put a lot of people out of work if you implement a flat tax.

You cannot possibly believe as many jobs are created as lost. Meanwhile, Gaylon Weston moves to 3rd on the list of wealthiest Canadians as he replaces his workforce with machines.........that pay no taxes whatsoever.

Yeah, that will help the average Canadian pay less taxes.........how moronic.
