What is this? It's just more Trump rhetoric, I said do you have any information about intelligent people in the US saying this will make them rich.

I didn’t say anyone but trump was saying it. He is saying it and it’s being parroted by his inner circle. His base is eating it up like it’s the truth.

Last year is irrelevant, Democrats were in power, they aren't now. This is all happening because of a change in power and new policies.
- Pacificgem

That’s what I thought.

USA - 64
Canada - 317

It’s amazing with all of American’s military might that 317 refugees (60% were children) can cause such a fuss. Americans have become so soft.

Never underestimate the liberal stranglehold on southern Ontario. As long as they vote liberal, that party will continue to be relevant. Carney is the kind of politician that southern Ontario love. He’s born in NWT, schooled in Alberta, worked under both liberal and conservative governments, ran big investment firms in the US, ran national banks in Canada and England.

If the libs are going to salvage any sign of life after the next election, Carney’s their best hope.

Regretfully Pierre Poilievre will be PM. There isn't a quality political party or candidate out there. I'm no longer a proud Canadian. Spin that anyway you like, it's fact.

PP is far from perfect but he’s light years better than any other candidate.

Just more Trump BS, people like you should stop taking everything he says at face value. I like his America first policies but most of what he says is not to be taken seriously by informed people.

Go back and read what I said…

I said Trump said it will make America rich.

You responded you’ve never seen anyone say that.

I replied with his direct quote.

Now you change it around to try to make it look like you weren’t wrong.

Trumpism at its finest.

You're trying to deflect the initial comment to sway it into a conversation that fits your narrative, which you always do. Rubio said they are concerned about Canada accepting 5000 people from Gaza into Canada. Now we're talking about last year and so on and so forth. Part of their actions is to stop Canada from doing this, as a new administration.

I think Canadians are much better positioned to accept high costs of consumer goods. Americans not so much. As soon as Americans realize that a tariff is just a tax on Americans, they won’t be happy.

Yes, you're right, you did say that. I read it as Americans said that. But my point still stands, why are you stupid enough to take what Trump says so seriously? It's just Trump rhetoric.

What Canada needs to do is stop with it's protectionary BS from province to province. If they continue to act like each province is it's own nation they're going to fail without the US.

"Canada should have it's own internal free trade agreement. Interprovincial barriers are the equivalent of between a 21 and 25% tariff. Open flow of all goods and commodities, including energy, will help to offset our dependency on the USA."

Unfortunately it will be difficult since our past leaders have made it impossible to get our resources to global markets. The US was behind much of the policy restricting Canadian access for energy getting to global Markets. This was all part of the end game. Make us dependent on them, then try to (frank) us over.

Where do you see "all in 2025" there? I said no one said they're accepting them all in 2025. You just constantly spin your own narratives.

God forbid they should be concerned about terrorism, why do you find it offensive that they should be concerned about their citizens and possible harm to them?

Special refugee applications for Gaza ends April 22, 2025. We’ll have a conservative government in power by mid/late summer. You think they are going to carry on this policy? No chance. So how are these 5,000 Palestinians going to get into Canada?

Do you think that maybe Rubio’s text was a smokescreen?

Of course it is, in part. Look, you act like everyone is so stupid, your arrogance is astonishing. You honestly believe I don't know there's always fluff in what any politician says?

He's standing with his President, but he also has legitimate concerns about border security, some things are just inferred, they don't have to be spelled out in specific detail.

No matter what it is from them, even if there's some legitimacy to their concerns, you dismiss it and call everyone an idiot. Like I said, both countries have had open border policies for the past several years and it's created problems in both countries, they want to get away from that, as do the Canadians.

It’s amazing. As soon as one of Trumps puppets tweet something out, our resident MAGAteers repost it here without a lick of self investigation to ensure that they ain’t falling for propaganda. So lazy. So American.

You're the epitome of an arrogant Liberal Canadian, even though you pretend not to be. I get you don't like Trump, but when someone posts something about protecting their borders, even though some of it is just supporting his president, and you go off like some screaming liberal white lady.
