Been trying out that other site, with several familiar names, it also has its fair share of quirks

Pretty crazy the way this place is dying, the way things are happening here just doesn’t add up to the site owner wanting to drive away advertising revenue.

So NYN have you been contacted or now just “persona non grata” with blogs?

I would doubt he gets much. Low traffic site for many years now.

I'm not sure if people having ad-blockers affects things regarding ad revenue, but I imagine it does. Why pay for an add people aren't seeing?

Anyways, it was a good run. I imagine it could have been great if people paid for a season's ticket back when it began.

So gents it just keeps getting whackier in here. Retinalz got 3 months for one simple question, “why are blogs getting deleted” and NYN got 3 months for saying “I don’t know why”

Yup, I have gone through the last 10 blogs and if anyone mentions deleting blogs or bans they get 3 months….even if you respond I don’t know why?

Do you not think EK knows blogs are mysteriously deleted, he hasn’t responded to 2 reachouts I have tried.

I will say this once again, in my opinion this has the best fan interactive site of the other hockey sites, but for some reason the site is down to 10 bloggers and multiple deletions.

I maintain that a membership is worth posting priveleges. I don't even know if $20 a year is enough to support a site.

Interesting thought, there are several other sites that don’t require a membership fee, CA, HF, Hockey Hot Stove.

HF has by far the most posters but the format sucks. CA has some great articles but the posters suck even worse. HHS is new but the format lacks the interactive back and forth we have here. And I’m not even going to comment on all the ridiculous sites like Reddit, sportsnet, Canucks Daily yada yada.

This site worked best when there were credible bloggers submitting frequently with marginal oversight on rudeness and controversy. Now the reputable bloggers have left for various reasons and oversight has become extreme.

If you could have an Athletic style site where bloggers were paid competitively maybe that would work but people aren’t willing to pay subscription fees when there are all these other crap sites for free.

You get what you pay for.

If you could have a slick site that was well run and engaging it would be well worth $20-$50 a year. On the high end it's less than $4.25 per month,, which is roughly the cost of a really cheap meal.
