Was just talking to a guy in my office about their strength on the road and after a loss. This isn't over by a long shot. - bodiva88
the trend has been favorable to the road team clinching the cup: 7 and 3 since 2009...kings won 2x at home and the hawks in 2015 |

Jason, curious what you mean by his "whining worked" and the "important no-calls". STL had 4 PP chances and it seemed to be called quite well last night even after a few suspect penalties (like Chara on Perron for example). Just genuinely curious what you saw in that aspect. - MrBeanTown
The missed slash on O'Reilly that lead directly to a 5 on 3 & Bruins first goal, for instance. Gets pointed out by former officials like Kerry Fraser, but Blues don't try and make it the story of the entire game, so it just gets ignored. Last game wasn't any better officiated than the one prior, missed call all but gifts one team a goal. Bruins fans just think it was better officiated because the gifts were going their way this time. |

Yeah there were some missed calls, but we had 4 power plays and didn't score ONCE. Our PP lost us this game not the refs. |

1 for 18 in the series I believe...that's the problem with the pp: it comes and it goes in streaks...
but the blues 5 on 5 have dominated these playoffs and thats how you win playoff series...
the hawks were never very good on the pp when they won their cups but they dominated with the pk and 5 on 5... |

Yeah, unfortunately for us our PP has been terrible and the Bruins has been on fire. 5v5 we are controlling the play for the most part. |

That was a bad 3rd period...
Binnington let a in couple I’m sure he’d want back and the Blues needed to convert on the PP. More disciplined play and staying away from being short handed would have helped also.
But, I don’t think anyone expected the Bruins to drop three in a row, so the good news is you still have a Game 7 to bring the Cup home.
I expect Binnington will be better and perhaps being away from home will help the Blues relax a bit and play more within their game.

Well it appears Cassidy's whining worked. Didn't get calls but got a number of important no-calls.
Regardless, Rask won that game and Binnington wasn't nearly good enough. As soon as Binnington went after Marchand on the delayed penalty, I told my wife that was a bad sign, focused on the wrong thing. - Jason Millen
Jason, I can back you up with regard to one non call, although it had nothing to do with Cassidy. I look at it as the hockey gods pulling a string after the trip no call the other night. The bruins enter the zone and the weak side guy on my big screen (top of the screen, across the ice from the camera) is offside and it isn't close. No whistle. Seconds later Bruins draw a penalty and play stops. Can't challenge the offside. Then ROR goes yard with a clearing attempt and it's 5 on 3. Sure enough Marchand (i think) scores. The whole sequence doesn't happen like that if the offside is whistled.
The eye in the sky is a double edge sword. But I sat at ice level for decades and saw at least 3 a game and a lot of times twice that where an offside was missed. The linesmen are trying to avoid dump ins and guys wheeling around yet they are still expected to watch the whole width of the rink to rule if the play is on or off side. They need help, and last night was yet another example. (steps down off soap box). Good luck in game 7. |

Exactly the game was closer than the scoreboard shows. Binnington has been lights out after a bad game so far in his career. Blues will win Wednesday. Just need that PP to get at least one and the guys will loosen up on their grips. |

I've lived here in Philly since 1971. So I've been around since almost the beginning. I've been a season ticket holder for 24 years. Have seen two Stanley Cup Finals in person but sadly not the ones they won when I was in college. And I've still never seen that last goal go in in 2010. - bodiva88
Just watched The Russian Five. The Legion of Doom featured prominently (sorry for digging up old bones). While you may not “enjoy” it, it is a nice look at their story. I thought Red Army was actually better though... |

Go back and watch it again bud, the puck was dumped into the zone... It's not even close to being an offsides, and then Schenn throws another patented scummy Blues hit, which should have been a 5 minute major, and during the regular season, probably would have been a suspension. |

All this crying about hitting. When did the NHL turn into a non contact sport. The game is fast and people are going to sometimes get hit in the head. When it happens it has to be called but the Blues aren't out there targeting heads in the Stanley Cup final. They are playing a hard nose brand of hockey and yes sometimes on the edge. If it's to much for you and other Bruins fans then maybe you guys need to watch some women's softball or something. |

So the cardinals are hosting a watch party, which I think is really cool of them! Get this though, they are playing the cardinals game on the screen next to the blues game. In what world is that not a hugely disrespectful to the importance of the blues game? I don't know what they are thinking. Show the cards game on tvs or during the intermission if you have to. |

I'm not crying about hitting, I'm pointing out one specific scummy hit where a dude blasted a guy face first into the boards when he saw numbers the entire way. There's plenty others to point out as well, but I've been telling my friends all playoffs... I'd rather be the team that's throwing the borderline hits and let the refs sort it out, than to be the team that's just taking them. The Bruins have been playing this not so physical style all playoffs, and it's worked for them so far. It's not the style you typically see from the Bruins in the playoffs, but they've been able to bait other teams into taking penalties because of overly physical plays, and if they score on their powerplays then they typically win.
It's been funny to see people claim they've watched the Bruins all playoffs, and then claim that they've been a dirty team... because they've been anything but. They had one super physical game, which was game 2 against the Leafs... that's been it. |

Nothing against the Blues, but as a Cardinals fan I think its a borderline disgrace to want to turn Busch Stadium blue - the colour of the stinking Cubs |

It's their home, they can do what they want.
It is great that they opened their doors for this. There were way too many people in the streets for game 6 and they weren't prepared for it. It was kind of sad walking out and walking on trash because there wasn't a trash can that wasn't overflowing and trash everywhere.
This will be nice to keep a lot more people in an event that can handle them. |

It'd be different if your Blues wore powder blue jersey's like the Cards - correct me if i'm wrong but the Redbirds have never worn anything as dark as the Blues/Cubs |
