In the name of fairness, yes. Maybe 5 games is too much, maybe a 3 game series. But something to give teams a chance to qualify as opposed to just cutting it off. Again, imagine if the Leafs were 1 point out, how would you feel?

Considering the whole league is getting a bye-month, the rest might be a factor but it might not be. We've seen teams on long rest lose their 1st game back because they were off for too long. So it could be an advantage or it might not be.

For these bubble teams, just making the playoffs and making up games is worth it financially for them. And for the fans of those teams too.

Long term impact of this covid-19 pandemic could be that in a lot of (at least European countries) governments will fall due to their late and lackluster measures - and more conservative parties will form new governments.
