Too many good goalies out there to settle on Comrie , that would be awful |

Thing is with cheaper goalie, and a few deletions, the Jets can slip under the cap with the core we now have - if everything falls into place.(including use of LTIR)
But not sure that's the way to go. Need that tender! |

Perhaps the Jets are getting ready to unload Morrissey? Lots of guys on the left side. Or maybe they are planning on trading one of Samberg, Heinola or Stanley for an upgrade on the right side or upfront? - TheUltimateJet
IMHO....Morrissey and Heinola are definitely not going to get traded. Samberg might because the term on Schmidt, Dillon, Morrissey, and Demelo would suggest he needs to go. Stanley looks to be in our long-term plans and the same with Heinola. Beaulieu is likely a cheap depth backup.
It's a strange puzzle because logic would suggest that it might be one of Pionk or Demelo that needs to go. One wonders how the negotiations with Pionk may have changed somewhat.

Chicago is making some very bad moves. I’m not concerned about them at all. |

They shed the Johnson contract and create an additional $1.8 MM of cap space under LTIR from Seabrook |

Cap friendly deal to stay in Denver as he could have got $7.5 AAV in the open market.
Before this weekend I expect to see Hamilton to the Rangers and Savard to the Canadiens. Eichel is harder to predict because some teams have the cap space like Columbus , who would love to pair him with Laine....but he may not want to go there.
Anaheim and NJ also have a lot of cap space. |

Ekland rumours but he is wrong 98% of the time.
NYR will get one of Hamilton or Eichel but in particular, they need another big name D.
Buffalo is asking for a lot but on pure assets alone it is Columbus who is loaded with picks to spare. Doubt Eichel wants to go there though. He would love to play for Boston but that's not happening. NYR are still close to his hometown though.
You have to hand it to Chevy.I'd much rather have two good NHL D at $5 MM per than one at $9.5 MM. It lessens the hit on an injury or of a bad contract. Chevy rarely pays the big dollars to anyone likely for that very reason. |

Yes and Schmidt and Dillion aggregate is just under 5 mil. Only 7.7 left of cap as of right now and Copp ,Pionk , Stanley, and Kovacevic and maybe a cheap backup left to sign.
Its going to be an interesting few days! |

It's actually more than $7.7 because of Little's LTIR ( which Chevy might trade away anyways) . I beleive Chevy actually has about $12.3 MM ot work with but also needs to sign a few 4th line depth guys in addition to the RFA's. There is a trade coming though. Bet its one of the RFA's ...Copp or Pionk....maybe DeMelo |

8 years for Landy, he has already shown he is not the same player away from Mac and Rant. this is a horrible contract and will be an anchor in 3-4 years.
Hamilton is going to New Jersey (supposedly) |

I would have rather had Hamilton over Schmidt and Dillon. Hamilton is a legitimate #1 defenseman. Both Dillon and Schmidt are 30 and both shoot left. My biggest fear is that now Samberg and Heinola do not get into the line-up at all for at least 3 years.
I think one of or at least 2 of Stanley, Samberg and Heinola will need to be traded, especially while all three have high values. |

If they can find a taker for Beaulieu, and sign Copp, Stanley and Pionk for about $11-$12M aggregate, they may be able to sneak in under the cap counting the LTIR.
But like you say, there is probably a trade coming down to give them some more cap room. Be nice to add a 25-goal scorer on the 2nd lime! Copp and a D for ??? Or maybe they think Copp can pot 25?

I see pld as a good bet to get close to the 25 goal mark with Ehlers close to 30 and maybe vesalainen on the other side. Pld and Ehlers can anchor the line while vesalainen opens some eyes with solid play and without a ton of pressure.
