Been reading around on various sites, most fans are wanting big changes, but Holy crap, they think a 3rd line player, like Garland, should fetch a return of a 1st+, that Hughes is a cornerstone to build around and Boeser is worth a 1st and a top prospect.

Garlands value will be determined by what the market for 2nd liners is (yes he is a 2nd liner as his production shows). At TDL a 1st is possible depending on what is available and what a team's needs are. His type is always less valuable in off season and more in season.

Hughes is most definitely a cornerstone defenseman. He has a skillset that few defenders have. He is most effective with a Schenn/Tanev type with him.

Boeser I have a hard time believing he couldn't fetch a 1st. He has a history of scoring goals, and though he doesn't have one yet, he still has 8 points in 10 games.

Points have value in the league, always have and always will. Finding a hard nosed, defensively responsible 4th liner is easy, top 6 players don't grow on tree's.

You guys forget that as soon as players take off their Canucks jersey and get a new one their game returns.
