How is Boqvist defensively? We don't need another guy who needs PP1 to be effective. We need a long term partner for Hughes. Ceulmans or Peeke would probably be better in this situation.

Peeke is an NHL dman, big body to appease Reub and co.
I've heard he is good defensively, hits and blockes shots. Signed 3 years after this for a low cap hit as well.

Miller makes a lot of sense for CBJ. They struggle signing players and they would have him locked up long term. As an added bonus he grew up nearby

With any luck, when FA told JR and PA to "fix it" they said "We need to get rid of Bo, Miller, Boeser, Myers, Pearson to fix it"

EDIT: I would also wager that the Miller signing had something to do with FA wanting him to stay put. Not suggesting JR and PA didn't want to keep him either, but fans loved Miller last season and FA probably wanted to cash in on that for a few years.

Yes I did. I shared at the time back in February. It isn’t Bo vs Miller. It’s Miller is the leader and Bo follows him and there is a bit of rift with Pouty and his gang of betas. Hence why the Canucks chose Miller over Bo.
