I am hoping he fetches a 2nd rounder.

This is a hard team to watch. I need some players that can entertain me.

The players I would keep are Petey Mikheyev Garland Schenn Podkolzin. After that I don't care who is moved. Kuzmenko is on the fence with me.

Thanks Carol.

You mentioned how the Canucks jumped over the Ducks by seasons end last season, but interesting to note, the Ducks made the decision to sell, around the deadline, even though they were in a playoff position, while the Canucks continued to go for it.

- Reubenkincade

The Ducks' slide last season accelerated after the deadline, but began before their selloff, which didn't start until they dealt away Josh Manson on March 14.

Here's where they stood at some key moments:

Nov 24, 2021: 10-7-3
Dec 31, 2021:17-10-7 (7-3-4 in that stretch)
Jan 31, 2022: 23-16-9 (7-6-2 in January)
Feb 27, 2022: 25-21-9 (4-5-0 in Feb)
Mar 13, 2022: 27-25-10 (2-4-1 before 1st deadline deal)
Mar 18, 2022: 27-26-11 (0-1-1 in week leading up to deadline)

End of season: 31-37-14 (4-11-3 the rest of the way, with the tank officially on)

The Canucks were 30-26-8 for 68 pts at the deadline while Anaheim had 65 points, so Vancouver had already passed them. The Ducks were already in 12th place by the TDL, while Vancouver was 11th. Vegas was in WC2 with 72 points.

Even though he didn't make a deal for his first six weeks, perhaps the key date for the Ducks was Feb. 3, when Pat Verbeek was hired as the new GM. They were already starting to trend down, but picked up the pace considerably after he came onboard.

I think he retired also. Thankful we got to see him for 17 uneventful games. We are truly blessed.

So what it sounds like you’re saying is that even though the Canucks aren’t tanking now, there’s still a chance they’ll do it later and successfully climb closer to the bottom.

Can anyone name any second rounders on Canucks that are liked? Hogs gets no love and others have been let go.

Liked? He’s kinda in the dog house right now. Still plenty of season to rebound though.

Chubarov was a gem!

Wow, no kidding. With that track record, no wonder they toss them around like candy. Maybe management smarter than I thought.

There’s a few guys that were ok. Didn’t hate them. Loved Chubey, too bad he went home for the summer one year and didn’t come back. There’s also a couple names that I have no idea who they are. Grot and Bonni. It’s like Gandalf in the passages of Moria, I have no memory of this place.

Anyone that defines Demko by his slow start this season and ignores how spectacular he's been for the rest of his career is a moron. He's a low maintenance personality as well... what is there to dislike about him?

Lol... keep the scouts year after year and trade the picks because they will fail at the draft is smart?

I’m just talking about the temperature in here. I like him fine, though if they want Bedard they probably need to downgrade the goaltending.
