He really is a Canuck already. It’s actually hilarious
- Nucker101

That's what the new development team is for.

Has a lack of intensity. Young or not it’s one of my least liked quality in a player. Boeseresque but still has time to build his character & work ethic.
- Nighthawk

I thought it was a bad pick, despite Allvin and his team high fiving each other.

It’s not so much about try it’s about self motivation. Hustling & wanting to be a difference maker. Floating in the O zone ain’t it & not seeing it anywhere in 200’. Yes young but not an excuse. Idk if it’s the new gens but are they lazy & need to be told to be hungry?
- Nighthawk

They picked the kid based on potential not what he is at the moment. Be nice if there were some encouraging signs that he is willing to do what needs to be done to win. Not float around.

Just be happy that they didn't waste the pick on either of the 2 defensemen that went, after that pick.
- Reubenkincade

Fixated on him it looks like. The BPA I despise so much. I suggest a trade down in my back pocket to help me avoid this. Doesn’t mean I’d do it just want a plan ‘B’ to get another GM to bite & overpay.

Wow.......Are there any survivors in this thread? I imagine a Lord of the Flies scenario has played out a couple of times by now.

Or have you all had enough time together that you are all besties?

Agree. Potential is most often a good reason. Due diligence on character is a must.

From Dhaliwal;

Canucks interest in Alexis Lafrenière.

The Canucks know this player inside out, Lafrenière's old agent is current Canucks assistant GM Emilie Castonguay.

The Canucks have checked in on Lafrenière, he was made a healthy scratch last week by the Rangers.

The Rangers are very ware of the Vancouver interest in Lafrenière.

Lafrenière will not be cheap but the Canucks have the assets like Bo Horvat to pull this off, if the Rangers decide to move him.

Lafrenière is the type of player the new regime in Vancouver is looking for.

Before he was traded to Montreal, the Canucks were also one of the teams after Blackhawks forward Kirby Dach.

Lafreniere and Dach are the type of young players the Canucks are looking for.

You going to pass up someone with more potential because it fits now and not 3-5 years down the road when they might actually make the NHL?

And what exactly is the Canucks needs? Also, Lekkerimaki was an analytics pick, so you know he has to be awesome.

I really think the Rangers should trade for Miller. Like, trade for Miller already. Miller for Laf you say? Yes. Yes that sounds good.

Could very well be, JR's not interested in futures, he won't be around to see them.

Miller for AF is what should happen...

But this MNGT team would do Bo for a potential bust in AF.

Love it.

No earlier I said plan ‘B’ trade down. Mgmt did say 2-3yrs for Lek so no rush. Roster won’t be static.

Pretty sure there would be $$ coming back or salary retention.

RHD & C. Neither of which were there at 15th. Lek for potential aka BPA or make a move.

Which personally I'd be fine with. Retain 1.2 on Miller, makes him 6.8 which is a nicer number. Rangers don't really have anyone that's a straight cap dump, but if they have to send a contract or two back that could work.
