Yes, Benning made an error with Boeser but that does not wash the error piled on top of it by Rutherford and Co and in fact, his error is even worse since anyone doing the smallest amount of homework knew that even at 6.65m, it's another handcuff on a poopty player and completely contradicting their assessment of this roster and their expressed plan moving forward
He could have parted ways with Boeser in the summer. Trade for next to nothing or let him walk if need be. There is no argument that paying to retain and or throw in sweetners after was the affordable way to move him. THAT IS ON THIS MANAGEMENT.

This is true but when a source is being protected from persecution, violence, loss of job etc etc... it's because they have released evidence that has been vetted before the report is published. There needs to be some transparency to their vetting.

Vetting a source's information is a big part of a journalists job. In the days of legit journalism, a source who wants anonymity and reveals something presents evidence that needs to be vetted and that was a huge undertaking that they had to complete before publishing/broadcasting. It's called credibility. Without that, it's not really journalism.

You can show you confirmed a report without revealing the leaker. I could give you endless examples. If you are shown nothing at all, only a fool calls it a fact.

These guys repeat 2nd 3rd 4rth and 5th hand information given to them a hell of a lot more than they do straight from the GM or agent they are gossiping about.

For a sports reporter to confirm what his source close to the team is telling him about trades, he needs to have the management team confirm it. Then it is truly a confirmed report.

You are confusing a sports reporter claiming trust of the person giving him the rumor is all. EF's trust does not make it a factual report and they get it wrong more times than they get it right.... It's pretty rare that a rumor gets confirmed on the record by the GM... It's a business for hacks... credibility not required.

Thats why i tend to wait until a few say similar things. Ie/ Brock Boeser: multiple journalists from multiple platforms reporting various levels of interest in Boeser implies he does indeed have value. I certainly take multiple journalists over multiple hockeybuzz posters. Hands down. Credibility is absolutely required, unlike posting here.

He is a p$ssy. Great dude but major problem in the room. He should fit in well on the Island as they have some real leaders and he can just relax and focus on hockey. He is not a leader. An individual reports trade interest from multiple teams in a player. What follows is a rash of outlets reporting that "said person has claimed there are multiple teams interested in a player". People like you then say "well that's multiple outlets so there must be something to it". In reality it's still one person's rumor being reported by many. Good grief... this is not complicated.
