Here's a crazy idea...try to get Meier, clearly the Bruins cannot re-sign him, but since he's an RFA, the Bruins can trade his rights in the summer (like they did for Kessel years ago) or someone will sign him on an offer sheet which would most likely fetch an interesting compensation depending on the value of the contract he signs... he's eligible to a 10M qualifying offer which means 4 first round picks... - Carm79
The draft pick compensation would be based on the contract offer and would have nothing to do with his QO

if im not mistaken, who ever tries to sign him must come up with a minimum of 10M, I could be wrong... - Carm79
That is mistaken. The player is free to sign a new contract at any value above the league minimum.

The QO is simply the required offer to retain his rights. |

Uh yeah, not a great night in the dot. Was surprised to see them get the win.
Now if we can just get that Pasta contract done. |

Not enough Czech influence. He's coming to Detroit this summer man. |

You really want him eh? If he hits the free market its going to be an all-out bidding war for him. Some team will cave and throw the max contract at him. Wings gonna pay that? |

I just want meaningful games again. Don't really care how it's done as long as it isn't in a way that cripples the future. |

I think the wings are a year or two out. But who knows, maybe Stevey Y will be a big spender in the off season again.
Maybe the wings can pry stammer away from the lightning since they are going to be cap strapped next year. You can enjoy some overpriced twilight years from 91. |

Pasta would be the only logical big money add. Elite scoring is still needed. They have everything else to buy time for Edvinsson, Kasper, Cossa, Mazur, etc. |

Rasmussen is your savior. Give him the C and let him turn the team around.....one penalty at a time. |

Pasta isn't going to Detroit unless he is massively overpaid. When has Stevie Y ever spent huge in free agency.
Andrew Copp might be his biggest free agent signing ever?

This might be a long shot but DeBrincat would help the Burins in the run.

Apparently they're looking at a depth forward and possible upgrade/replacement over Nosek in Ivan Barbashev.
The Sports Hub is reporting this. I wonder if that's Ek's "Source" |

Yeah cause adding depth for the stretch run is a bad idea?
