I think Tocchet is in on more than we think. Can see a full assessment being done. Pettersson and Hughes possibly Demko untouched.

100%, listen on Demko as well. Stockpile those picks for a change.

They have no coherent message or strategy, other than an owner that wants playoff revenue. Too impatient to build properly and blames the fans for not tolerating a full rebuild when they have never tried it. As far as the actual Horvat deal, IMO, it is a case of blowing their cash wad on items like OEL and Miller and forgetting that other players need new deals as well.

I don't understand how management can blame fans for any of their own decisions. Or if they have said that, why would they? Why fight with your audience?

Ya 6 goals is normal.

All good.

- LordHumungous

I don’t think he could have stopped that 6th one from the bench 😉

I don't underrate him due to the Russian factor, and if he is there at 5 we take him. I'm just thinking a 6'2" Centre whose potential is 70-80 pts and defensively responsible is a better pick that a 5'10" 90-100 Winger who doesn't play defense. Anywhere from 4-7 Michkov is the obvious choice. And rumor is Canes offered 1m for Spartak to terminate their contract with Nikishin. If the NHL was ok with this, maybe we do the same when the time comes.

Raty is a 6'2 center 185 lbs not really doing much.

Multiple Canucks managements over the years have stated this almost word for word. Most true fans have been pleading for a proper rebuild since 2011 Cup run. Others have been following this team since the 70's (myself included) and just want to see a Cup before we die. I just turned 50, so I should have some time, however, this teams past track record and the current aimlessness of the organization from ownership down leaves a lot to be desired.

Again, hopefully Tochett has some input at the draft table. I'm not sold on VAN's scouting department.
- VanHockeyGuy

Nothing wrong with Vancouver's scouting department. They got Ray Ferarro to finally shut up didn't they?

It's easier to blame the messenger than blame themselves. It also would require them to believe that they think they made the wrong decisions in the first place. Remember, these are "good ol' hockey men" that have worked together for years and won Stanley Cups in Pittsburg and Carolina with superstars like Crosby and Malkin and they think EP40 and Miller are those superstars (which they aren't (EP40 might be good enough to be a superstar but Miller is just trash))

Which fans have been pleading for a rebuild after a President Trophy winning season being 1st in GF and 1st in GA, that was 1 game short of winning a cup?

I didn't... it wasn't until the next year when they lost in the first round against LA that I thought there were huge problems that needed addressing. After the sweep by SJ the next year, I knew we needed to start over.

There were actually quite a few fans that wanted a new start back then when Gillis came in, including Gillis. Fans were tired of getting their asses kicked by Chicago year after year.

Back in 2008/9 was when most of it started.

This comment is not directed at anyone.

Fans talk about the 2011 run and say we were one game away from the cup, but the other side of the story is we were one goal away from being eliminated in the first round.

Sometimes a lucky bounce is all you need.

Still does not change the narrative that size should be first priority.

I think he is going to be a middle six C if he turns out and I am leaning towards 3C.

Thatcher Demko leaves the practice ice after 20 minutes. Not sure if by design. We’ll have to wait until we talk to coach

Chicago were the best team back then and have the three cups to prove it. Followed immediately by LA.

Canucks got lucky and I am sticking to that
