Boeser(1.5m retained) and Schenn to Calgary?

Says Schenn is worth a 2nd, would Boeser at 5m be worth a 1st?

Say it's for a 23 2nd and an unprotected 24 1st?

I would.

Regardless, TOR should be mindful of the future and not squander away valuable picks for another first round exit. Patience.

But the bolded is exactly the problem. Regardless of ownership, management team, coach, or captain this franchise can’t seem to figure out how to clean up mistakes and have a clear plan for success. Instead, the team usually doubles-down on past mistakes and then takes a “day-to-day” approach to team management.

That “day-to-day” comment is an actual quote from our ex-GM…

https://canucksarmy.com/n...manager-jim-benning-media

So please forgive us for lacking patience. Some of us are tired of the ineptitude.

I didn't say you can't be frustrated at certain things. I didn't say those emotions aren't valid.

I said patience is required in sports. Regardless if things didn't work out or that management keeps changing their minds. Unfortunately in sports things also don't happen overnight. So it sucks but it'll be the deadline and then the summer before anything looks to be done for the Canucks. You'll have to be patient from March 3rd to July 1st.

Understood, but I have run out of patience. I now want results. I want accountability. I want a god damn (frank)ing cup.

Benning was a big problem.... I was a Linden fan and thought his vision was clearer. Wish Benning had been fired first, then we wouldn't have had the Roussel/ Beagle contracts to trade for OEL.

Oh well, hindsight being 20/20 and all.

Yep, at least this new group now knows they suck and need big changes. The dissolution is over.

Unless we trade islanders 1st for D help lol

Can’t offer that but how about a room full of undersized Swedes and a spineless roster that wants to leave town. Sufficient ?

Sure. That's valid to be out of patience. Won't change anything but your feelings are noted and valid.

No clue

Dubas doesn't have a contract beyond this season so I venture he doesn't get an extension. They have a large amount of UFA's so whoever the GM is has a lot of flexibility to create the team they envision fairly quickly.

Beyond that I have no other information

Do they really? I thought they were trying to sign Bo right up until he was traded. They really haven’t done a thing to improve the d-core. I’m not even sure they chose the correct style of coach with their most recent hire.

Other than empty words, what has given you the impression that ownership and/or management understands their current predicament?

The next GM needs to either sign Matthews July 1st or trade him to facilitate another rebuild. Then trade Nylander, etc

When does the critical eye start to focus on Shanahan?

Naw he goes to the deadline if anything. You run with a generational talent like Matthews as long as possible. Leafs would still have JT under contract so you couldn't rebuild, along with Rielly on D and etc.

Besides, how come Colorado or Tampa didn't sell everyone off when they tanked hard before winning? How else did Colorado get Makar while still having Rantanen/Mac and Landeskog? That core got them a top 4 pick.

Honestly, he's been super quiet. No news about him in general in Toronto. I would think he gets another GM hire before that happens though.

You run with him all season and how do you justify trading him at TDL when you are in a playoff picture? You can't lose him for nothing.
