acquiring cap space and weaponising it are two very different things - dbot
Well the former has happened the latter is the key & must be used. |

Last time we traded cap space we ended up with Dermott hours later - VANTEL
Well the rumour for a week has been that weāre getting Patrick Kaneās caphit to make the trade to NYR work. It was part of a gentlemanās agreement for Kravstov.
So clearing almost a million in cap makes sense. |

i mean, say what you want about canucks mgmt, but they're certainly active.
They gotta be the team with the most trades this year, good or bad. |

Theyāre trying stuff and trying to go in a different direction of whatās not working and thatās actually a good thing. |

Weāve 6.5m cap space to be a 3rd team in a trade or eat a dump if we get an asset(s) |

Theyāve said all along cap space & flexibility needed to be fixed. |

And Schneider? - dbot
No, Schneider will be Chicagoās. He was the piece Chicago really wants for Kane.
The dreamer in me really wishes we could get Schneider. But perhaps instead of a pick.. Maybe weāre getting a D prospect from Chicago as they acquire Schneider for Kane in the coming days. |

Well if we gave up Lockwood a draft pick and are taking on a five mil cap hit then Allvin is even dumber than I gave him credit to be.
Kravstov is a stretch. I like the trade but so far he has done really nothing . New team new role, let's see. If that is part of the Kane deal, then that is where it should have ended.

Not many players have a many points per season as Miller since joining the Canucks. I didn't like the signing but he's a hell of a player. - Pres.cup
I see him as a good piece, not an elite forward. I think last year was an outlier. All this said, i still think we need another game changer up front with or without Miller. |

The big D fish out there could mean us being the 3rd team involved. 1 year cap dumps given there is term on Chychrun EK & Ekholm.

Thatās on the assumption that Demko or OEL isnāt playing again this year. But if they arenāt, I canāt help but feel that possibly Boeser will be moved out and have something like 1.65 retained. My guess would be Pittsburgh, Minny or Carolina if Vancouver can get his cap hit down to 5 million for the next 2 years after this one. |

They gave McCabe #2. Schenn to the leafs is clearly not happening
Not like the leafs have picks to send now. Want some Chicago 5th rounders on conditions? lol |

It wonāt be 5 million, itāll be something like 1.5-2.5, which will expire in 6 weeks anyways.

Demko might be playing tonight. I seen earlier that he might get the start.

Why is it dumb to take on a 5m cap hit hit for only this season with 6.5m in cap LTIR to use only by March 3rd? |
