As a Canucks fan I am laughing my ass off. I know all to well about NMC and full NTC

Until there is an amendment in the CBA or changed in the next one everything is legal.

My second thought on this is I can't be mad at Arizona for doing something we wanted Canucks to do,

I can't be mad either because without them doing it, there wouldn't be a lot of player movement honestly. A lot of teams are maxed out and that's good, means players are getting what they deserve. Just makes trades extremely hard.

I wonder about changing the buyouts and not making them so harsh against the cap.

Especially when the most money Arizona will have to pay is between $125,000-$250,000 depending on if he hits all of his incentives. As the only guaranteed money Kane made was in signing bonus. Which wasn’t even that much due to the contract being front loaded.

No thx. Rather teams & GM’s get punished if throwing silly contracts around. Don’t wanna see the rich teams or low tax state teams get more of an advantage.

If salaries for players weren't so outrageous for some and not others. I saw a tweet earlier that said there was no middle ground in salaries anymore. There should be but term seems to (frank) that up. Maybe shortening contracts to 5 years max allows for more movement.

Compliance buyout hybrid. Buying out later years on a contract. Eg OEL has 4yrs left but can buy out his last 2 years with no cap hit. Could set a limit of how many years or a % of years remaining.

10 team NTCs are usually most common, and the 10 teams are usually all 7 Canadian teams and the California teams. Generally the reasoning is taxes.
