Also can't be ignored they have had a relatively healthy season. even with these two crippling injuries, unless Dahlin remains out the rest of the month, we've had a fairly healthy season.
- lacaprup

Right, so if they start to falter without their top winger and top D man, it can't just be ignored and "oh they suck!"

Fabbro and Saros would blow my mind into the universe.
- TheSabresTaco

If that happens, then I will shut right up about Adams being afraid to make trades he hasn't been forced to make (Risto, Reinhart, Eichel).

Saros to mentor Levi would be incredible for the long term as well...two smaller stature goalies.

I'm with you. Don't think I'm not. I want them to add. I want him/them to tell that dressing room, we believe in the core in here, so here's some help.

But they are progressing nicely. They are trending upwards. Yes, they have some holes to fill and everyone knows what they are, but they aren't going to go from bottom 8 or 9 to Stanley Cup contenders. How is Yzerman doing in Detroit? The honeymoon is over. How many in here said they'd be lapping us this year? It takes time.

The patience, acceptance and understanding spectrum on this board is wide ranging and extreme.

Guy A won't stop female doging about Riley Stillman despite being an obvious peripheral defenseman

Guy B will say whatever

Guy C will say thanks or whatever for the depth, hope he returns to Florida form

Guy D will female dog about the ROR trade

Guy E will look at the team as a whole and say, toss them a bone, but any add will likely not boost their playoff chances much at all. Mostly symbolic.

Everyone is fed up. I walked out of the Joe Bonamassa concert Tues expecting to find out the Sabres won. To say I was pissed is an understatement. It's inexcusable to lose to the last place team.

But they're not a losing team this year. They're playing meaningful games in March for the first time in ten years. For the most part, when they're not frustrating, they're fun to watch. They have stars and stars in the making. Yet some in here act as if they're in last place and piss and moan to the point where it's almost as if their day isn't complete unless they cry about the Buffalo Sabres. It's pathetic. It's like a small group of Statlers and Waldorfs. Pissing and moaning and pointing fingers (as if any could do better) from the balcony. They're not happy unless the Sabres are burning. You notice how thin the herd is in here now? I've popped in here for the TDL to see the rumors, and then I'm gone again (I'm sure there are a few who will be happy about that).

It means don't use injuries for an excuse when we've had a healthy season. We have not had a devil's share of injuries. As of right now, Dahlin has missed a whopping 4 games all season. Tuch 3. Get over it.

Believe #GoBolts are among the teams monitoring price today on John Klingberg.

They're running low on assets, as we all know, but could clear enough cap space by getting #NHLDucks to take back Philippe Myers and run Klingberg salary through third-party broker.

I don't even think it's bad in here yet. Wait until 3:10 when Adams takes the Podium and introduces Dirk Diggler and tells everyone to bend over, we are riding this for another year. Then it will get excruciating!!

The herd is thin because 99% of this board got banned.

We all want the Sabres to win but apparently not being content with “hey we don’t absolutely suck this year” is a bad take and makes us wish the Sabres were awful.

You continue to make exaggerated claims and strawman arguments.

I will repeat what Hank Lanquist said it’s great that you have momentum, but you can’t build a winning culture without winning something first. I.e. he thinks it’s extremely important for this team to get to the playoffs this year to continue to build on the momentum because it is very easy to fall back to where you started and the culture crumbles.

- ImThatGuy

If you aren't going to win in the playoffs - why rent anything that isnt cheap.

I for one, don't mind the long term approach to the building of this team.

I also dont believe that 80% of the movement at the deadline ends up being worth being what you give up for it, unless you are looking to get to the conference finals or better.

Also, I am not an NHL GM.

I'm told the Vancouver Canucks are seeking an "effective" NHL player in return for Connor Garland.

Don't seem to be all that interested in draft picks.

#SeaKraken are also keeping an eye on John Klingberg.

But Kraken are simultaneously entertaining offers on Carson Soucy and Will Borgen to potentially capitalize on some of the high prices on the market.

Are we able to start helping teams in the division yet at least if we aren't going to make a move to help ourselves? Someone's going to help them anyways, why not be the team that does and gets something in return for it?

I get not wanting to directly help a competitor but it's clear there are teams out there willing to help anyone and our competitor is going to get that help whether we are involved or not. Why not be the one to reap the benefit (however small).

I hate that we are at that point, but an asset is an asset.

I know they're a lean team, I don't want them to be Arizona by any stretch, but do something to look like a real NHL team.

I think the top 3 still have a few more years of good play. Sabres will have to try and keep pace. I'm with you 100% there. And, yes, I can agree w many here that they can still set themselves up for long-term success and add to the current team without deviating too much from their plan. Hopefully they do that.

A) playoff experience is invaluable

B) you never know what happens once you get in

C) nobody is asking for rentals. Guys like Chychrun and Meier are long term 7+ year additions

D) listen to other GMs of good teams “the picks we are moving now would not have an impact on our team for years if ever”
