You got it.

There seems to be clear openings long term in 2 to 3 seasons for the 4th line, and that's where players like Bloom, Nadeau and Rousek fit.

The top 9 is super crowded with players like Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Kulich, Savoie and Ostlund.

Where does Rosen really fit? Feels like he would need to really outperform a number of players to have a role available to him.

- kingcong39

Pretty much, I mean 4 out of your top 6 are locked up for awhile. Then you bring in this draft class. Sabres will run out of spots very quickly. Evaluations and Decisions will need to be made quicker. Should get real interesting.

NYI HOCKEY NOW: Stefen Rosner reports goaltender Semyon Varlamov wants to remain with the Islanders. He has no interest in getting traded and hopes to re-sign with the Isles when his current contract expires this summer.

Rosen by a (frank)ing mile

Do you see a clear path in the top 9 for Rosen?

Did you see a clear path to Bloom on the 4th line?

Do you think Rosen is a 4th line player with his skillset?

Sure the paths are not clear for these guys and it will be difficult.

That doesn’t mean trade them for bad players.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Browns will release safety John Johnson III on March 15.

1. In the next 12 months, no. Beyond that, yes.

2. Yes, in three years, conceptually speaking. The age of that line now, and the lifespan (on roster) of 4th liners is typically short. Turnover is high league wide and a lot of them can be had using no or minimal assets. While I like the idea of Josh Bloom, I don't need him to be the guy that comes in here and does a job any veteran can do.

3. No

To the former NHL GMs and Pro Scouts, who would YOU have traded Josh Bloom for? PK88? An All-Star RD? A goalie?

I'm just going to say it because you are all bringing me the (frank) down.

Jost was a bad player. And so was Tage.

Again, not a fan of the trade. But now that he's here, let's just give it a little bit to see how he turns out.

replacing poyer with a guy 5 years younger and cheaper is good to keep the window open longer

also for the record im not a fan of the trade but im willing to wait it out.

Pretty sure KA has a good indication of whether or not Johnson is signing.

The trade appeared to be help for Rochester IMO?

Maybe the Sabres plan is to add someone crappy, so they can waive him freely to Rochester and back incase of a group of injuries?

Wouldnt we rather have stillman play then bloom if needed this year? Makes sense to me.

Maybe were trading a defenseman 1-7? Bumps him up from 8?

This is just a dumb question.

These guys compete and develop. You don't know where Bloom or Rosen will end up.

They are 19 year olds. You think you would learn from Hagel not being signed.

Did you see a clear path for Hagel? No? Now he is the 4th leading scorer for Tampa

As a middle 6 scoring option. It's almost useless talking about rosters a year or two in advance. What if:

Skinner-Thompson-Tuch
Rosen-Cozens-Quinn
Kulich-Krebs-Savoie
Peterka-Jost-Milan Lucic

you don't move a 19 year old prospect you signed who was picked in the 3rd round and is a ppg player

for rochester help

the only logic for botts not signing hagel is because botts drafted him

adams drafted bloom and signed him pretty quick which makes this strange

prospects suspects rejects

they clearly see something we don't. or have low value on his long term contribution.
