Speaking of Prokhor Poltapov, how about the quality defenseman taken with the pick right after?

Zellweger was talked about quite a bit leading up and during the draft.

Another opportunity missed to take a quality defenseman.

I think that’s mildly my point. There are about 4 guys that were quality taken after Poltapov, but not many taken after Kisakov. Morrow is another that could be a steal.

I think we agree that just taking a defenseman to take one isnt the correct approach, if there is someone you feel can be a difference maker. And I think they thought Kisakov could be that. As for Poltapov, yeah idk. Passed on some quality there.

JFC, you people have been dragging Adams through the mud for days now, relentlessly. What the ever-loving frack is wrong here, you goddang maroons! At least wait till the dust clears and the tdl is over before bagging on the gm for not getting player x (whose mere presence alone would guarantee a trip to the playoffs, as if).

Even if Gerbe is wrong and we don't make any more moves, how can we be so irrationally gloomy and whiny while our team is high-scoring, young, in the playoff chase, and finally on a sensible long-term path? I've been biting my tongue for days now but seriously, wtf?

I think they need to realize how defensemen are considered league wide as high quality commodities in trades, and you need that for future trade possibilities.

Look at Fiala and Meier trades as just two recent examples of that.

If you're Bill Armstrong aren't you going to set the price high and ask for the moon ? then when you get no offers or crap offers you take what you can get.

Look at that, Jakob Chychrun isn't Ray Bourqe. His contract and term make him very wanted by teams other then that he's average.
