One thing I noticed from watching Hornqvist and Lomberg and Gudas joining the Panthers.
The “attitude”, or whatever you’d call it, is contagious. For whatever reason, the team as a whole followed to some degree. For whatever reason, whether emulating a respected veteran player or maybe taking notice of the fan-love (and the increased ice-time) Lomberg playing his ass off generates. The other players will all follow to some extent.

Ralph wasn't the best coach ever but I wouldn't put much blame on him. Between Risto, captain Jack, Reinfart and some Skinner the culture was brutal. If you ever get a chance to ask some X Sabres I think they would agree. The team culture was a killer and no coach could be held accountable to sort out that mess. Some guys are leaders and some followers. The above are either bad leaders or followers
