Torts talking about Wade Allison today.

"He is always hurt.

He must have said it ten times.

- MBFlyerfan

I do wonder if it’s a subtle message about some perhaps soft tissue/mild discomfort injuries that a lot of guys play through….I like Allison but there seems to be a lot of short term injuries that take him out of the lineup fairly regularly. For a guy his age eventually he’ll have to be in the lineup and prove somewhat reliable or he’ll never reach his potential.

I have always been hyped about Allison, what is funny is after seeing him for a good stretch, I am not as hyped. His skating is not as good and you don't see his shot much at all. It could be the chemistry or injury carry over, I hope it gets better. Allison is the type of pick and draft example that really shows why the Flyers are where they are, I mean that draft was a disaster

Torts will be not be around when this team is ready for way over .500 hockey for 82 games. Only the untradeable anchors ⚓️ will stay the upcoming seasons.

Of course, Hart is the gem there.

Allison has improved this season and being realistic, he is a #9/10 forward on the depth chart. He still can be a very successful pick as a later 2nd round pick.

I quit moderating today. Most of you are good people but those who didn't follow the rules are (frank)ing toolbags to the umpteenth degree.

Adults that can't follow simple rules on the internet make me laugh because it isn't how they would treat co-workers. Or you know, low key physically threaten someone because you got banned off a site.

What the best part is? You talk poop about the site but can't stay the (frank) away. It's incredibly sad.

MJL, you're an okay person but learn to admit when you're wrong. You move goal posts and can't concede a point on the (frank)ing internet about a hockey team. I don't get it. I legit don't...you aren't going to change these people's minds so why keep doing it? You must just enjoy it.

JD250, you must enjoy going at it with MJL all day because I can't see why you'd entertain that constant droning.

I really believe the plan should be

sit Tk and Coots
finish as low as you can
pick top 5
try to make good trades for picks in the off-season
if not, add to current lineup inexpensive, short term help, bring back TK, Coots and Cam
Play your tail off for the playoffs
sell everyone at the TDL and Draft 2024

Hayes, Laughton, ND 2 years left on deals
Provy, TK and Cam 1 year
TD FA
Ellis should be a cap asset

Alison is nothing, he can’t stay on the ice. Until proven otherwise, I don’t count him towards anything

I wouldn't say nothing. The injury rate is an issue but when he plays, he's a decent player. However not good enough to commit to if he can't stay on the ice.

Interviewing players and GM's is not having a connection to hockey ops. If that was true that would mean that Taryn Hatcher and Ashlyn Sullivan have a connection to the Flyers hockey ops. Yes, I need to explain this to you but I'm obtuse.

Briere has been the GM for a week. He's not even talking to other teams yet for prospective trades. There's going to be a bunch of internal meetings and trade talks will start after the season leading up to the draft. If you want to think that he's tipping his hand to his buddy Biron about his plans for the future, that's your perogative.

- MJL

Briere has been the gm for a week.

Hey Mr obtuse no crap. Can’t make this more clear. They surely have talked about players before he became gm. Do you get that? No one ever said briere became gm and called his buddy to discuss hart or any other player. The hats what makes you obtuse. Slow to understand.

There’s absolutely ZERO chance that an ex nhl goalie hasn’t talked to his best friend who’s in hockey also about a goalie on his friends team.

I found it a little weird actually. Talk about pressure. I'm sure Allison doesn't get hurt on purpose. (maybe he does, he seems like a bit of an eccentric dude..
)

So does Allison start hiding injuries and trying to play through things? Keeping things from the trainers?

Man is Binnington unstable. Fleury said one of the players said Binnington hit him in the nutsack earlier. Then when he saw Binnington throw a punch at Hartman, it was time. A very entertaining game.

Allison signed a cheap two year show us deal and the Flyers, not even half way through that with 45 games played are pulling out on him. He is 25. Just stupid to not give him next season to show additional improvement.

We’ll see where this goes. The Torts delivery lacked thoughtfulness. Allison, when he plays, improves the team. If you are going say work on it, but not give him the track to do it, then…another reason the Flyers development sucks.

His health is what it is at this point. And with the team currently on track for maybe being good 4 years from now he’s barely even worth mentioning imo.

If Tippet is playing in the top 6, is this team a contending team? How long do you think it's going to take for this team to reach the level of being a contender? The Flyers are not in a position of having a surplus of young talent. Nor are they in a position of appeasing a dinosaur coach who says he is struggling to find offense but doesn't like offensive players.
- MJL

Right now if Tippet is in your top 6, you are not a contending team either. However anyone watching can see there is a lot more there with Tippet and his ceiling is absolutely a top 6 forward. With Frost, though I admit he has proven he can play in the NHL, I really can't say I know what his ceiling is. It may be a top 6 role someday, but I just don't think it will be on the Flyers.
