Agree with that, but obviously you want the best player possible. The big question is what draft position do they need not to screw up the pick? Probably top 3, so I'm sure they will pick 4th and get a stiff.

They could pick #1 and manage to screw up the pick. These are the (frank)ing Flyers we're talking about

Vegas may have won the game but they are licking their wounds a bit on the plane ride home. That’s how it’s done in Philadelphia. Nothing is going to be easy and it’s going to take it out of you to beat us.

The analytics team can chalk another data point up on the hard to play against chart.

yeah. arizona and habs schedule doesn't seem tough, but still. we are now in a better position. do everything to keep it. don't care. if we are winning you pull your goalie to practice 6 v 5

Who can forget the Kraken's final regular season game last year where they were up 3-1 going into second intermission before realizing that winning that game would allow the Flyers to jump them in the draft order.

Wouldn't matter if it was drunk behavior. It's unacceptable behavior.
- MJL

unacceptable, yes. but with alcohol involved judgement is impaired. this has been proven over the years.

Can we discuss the irony of Frost scoring a goal the minute Torts takes him away from Tippett, who he's supposedly "not good enough" to be playing with?

Carson Briere is 23 and already kicked out of another college. He didn’t learn his lesson already.

Time for his dad to let him pay the piper. He can dig himself out of this mess.

Haha. I don't think even they can screw up if they picked first or second.

Is that what torts said or are you antagonizing? thought it was more about chemistry. maybe he was right.

Torts will want to trade it for 2nd round picks. Because that is where the hardworking 200 foot shot blockers get drafted.

The type of players who deflect shots in to their own net when their tenders have an unobstructed view of the puck.

absolutely. Torts has a shelf life. Bedard if here would outlast torts. and a franchise player would probably have their opinion valued a little more.

If that was my son he would become a personal assistant to whoever owned that wheelchair until I say otherwise. Absolutely disgusting.

The act was unconscionable, there was no reason to do this. It didn't even look like Carson was drunk though even that's not an excuse. Just plan stupid and now Danny is going to have to address it I'm sure.

We can’t be sure Bedard is at the top of the Flyers draft chart. Does he block enough shots? Is he involved in the play defensively? Can he take the body? His frame looks a little slight for my tastes.

The proprietary internal metrics on this kid may not live up to the hype.

Tippet would probably have twice as many goals if he would just hit the net more often. Gets set up in the high slot by Cates in the 3rd and misses the net; you have to make the goalie make a save there.

I give it 10 games before Bedard is out with a broken foot after a blocking a shot on the PK.

Yes, and a lot of the assists would have gone to Frost. I like Tippett quite a bit. My point is that there isn't some big separation between the players. They are the same age, too.

It is laughable that you think his reply of being glad that nobody was hurt deserves criticism. The quotes you invented was not what he said.
- MJL

Don't you realize that anyone that does not think as Shrike believes they should think is automatically a bad person? Hence the criticism, with moral superiority, of such an innocuous comment. Unfortunately, this is all too common these days.

That said, how about that goal by Seeler? Right now, he may be the only Flyer player that's actually playing above his contracted value. Not sure I can think of any other players that are. Maybe Tippet and Frost are close.

I think if the Flyers get Bedard, Fantilli or Carlsson they will be in great shape moving forward, especially if Couts comes back and can play near his level. Out of the 3 Fantilli plays Flyers hockey the most and I really like him.

Yeah but Frost gets all his points against bad teams something something while Tippett scores against future HOFers something something.

Well, hypothetically, if they get Bedard, it's going to be a long work in progress to turn him into a 200 foot player. He MUST learn to play the Flyers way first.

Frost got his ice time cut under 15mins last night, w/ Mario Jr as a linemate (sick pass tho).

Meanwhile Tipp is getting 22 mins and a warm back rub of encouragement from Torts on the bench after he turns the puck over leading to the ENG.
