I agree. I hope they beat the Sharks tonight. I hope Tocchet also let's McDonough play.

Building a culture of winning for next season.

Western Michigan vs BU on soon. Canucks were/are interested in a couple WMU players Max Sasson and Ryan McCallister.

Johansson vs Forsell going on at the same time.

I surely couldn't argue that companies see $$ and will take advantage of it.

It is good for the NHL's image to show support. Unfortunately, as my wife and I were just discussing how sometimes it's not received as intended. An issue that should not be ignored because it doesn't go off perfectly. I have heard that other activities that happen around the arena have been well received.

But its everywhere anyway - consider profiling as you watch advertising or sports shows. It is 100% ingrained in all entertainment

- house wife cleaning (big smile but skinny)
- sports guy (probably fat)
- smart savy shopper (wears glasses)
You will immediately have a "type of person" come to mind

..... interesting is the newer gambling ads. We did a count and 70% of the star people in the ads have same....its not a coincidence.

Usually same sex couples are displayed with kids so that it "normalizes" it in a family context.

If you want to find out normal you have to walk the streets and not live through entertainment.

I just fear it is last year repeated. We finished so strong under Bruce and then totally failed

I’m just a cynical person so I don’t believe for one minute the NHL gives a poop about inclusion, bullying, or LGBTQ rights. This is an organization that doesn’t even care about the physical and mental health of its own players. They have done everything in their power to distance themselves from any responsibility for player safety or wellbeing. That includes the recent Kyle Beach craziness that happened in Chicago.

Don’t get fooled by some half-ass marketing ploy disguised as some sort of cultural awakening or a new found social conscience. It’s essentially virtue signalling and it pisses me off.

Last season there was some things that showed that maybe it wasn't very sustainable in the future. Some of those things many have said have improved a bit under Tocchet. I'm not overly sold on Tocchet as anything more than TG 2.0 as a coach so far.

A few larger surgeries have already been done to the roster. Maybe they are currently just some healing going on, then going to need some rehab and time to get back into it. Maybe 24-25

old and cynical. Awesome combination.

I just read this and had to chuckle:

The Chicago Blackhawks will not wear Pride-themed warmup jerseys before Sunday’s Pride Night game against Vancouver because of security concerns involving the law that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed in December.

The decision was made by the NHL following discussions with security officials within and outside the franchise

Chicago has one player from Russia, Nikita Zaitsev.

So the NHL said that Chicago can’t wear the Pride jersey because of Putin? What an absolute load of horse poop.

Maybe with 1 of Van's 4th round picks for me. He skates well but a few question marks about other parts. Similar to Joni Jurmo.

I wonder how much losing BRad Shaw affected our play, and I guess the Demko factor can't be overlooked. I was definitely a JR-PA hater, but some of their moves have been good. Some have been nonsensical too - namely signing Miller before they had to, and overpaying him. I'm not sure sometimes if I can congratulate them on getting Russians to come to Vancouver. Seemed that after that huge Russian D-man bolted Vancouver was a negative place to be but now we have 3 regularly in the line up and Gonchar as an AC. Never would have guessed that.

Trading away the 1st to the Wings for an injured D-man is risky that's for sure

Is Quinn Hughes a defensive liability? No.

Is he being targeted as a distraction from countless Vancouver front office failures? Yes.

Luke Richardson said he hasn't spoken to the three Russian Blackhawks about Pride night. "I don't think it even got to that point. I think the organization made the decision before it got to them."

I read somewhere this morning that was something along the lines about how it wouldn't be on Putin's radar and he wouldn't care according to a politics professor

Here's the article from Patrick Johnston

I can imagine a bunch of NHL pencil-necked marketing types running around trying to figure out how they will get out of this whole Pride Night disaster. In desperation, one of them says “let’s blame Putin!” Then they all exhale in relief shouting “perfect, it’s Putin’s fault!”

Now all of a sudden they are worried about player safety? From Russian hitmen or court issued imprisonment? It’s all so absurd.

I think the article nailed it on the head when it stated “Theme nights have become big business for the Canucks…”

That’s the only reason teams are doing this stuff. I don’t believe it’s because they are all of a sudden concerned for marginalized communities.

I don’t think Chicago have three Russians, who are the three?

Mark Lazerus

Connor Murphy: "We've been able to wear them before. It's still important to have the night. A jersey's a jersey and I think it's more important that we are supporting the cause as an organization. Whether we're wearing the jersey or not, that's the organization's decision."

Connor Murphy is not a Russian for Chicago. I only see Zaitsev. so IDK.

Canucks have been hosting pride nights since 2017, article also says that some teams have worn pride jersey's but not all and not all the time throughout pride theme nights.

Sure, show your support for marginalized communities by purchasing a $650 jersey.

Do they need to cost $500? Absolutely not.

Are they incredibly high quality? Yes.

Those each have to be set into their loops to get their embroidery done, one by one, they have an insane design, these have more care than the 'authentic' sweater that isn't anything close to what

There were most likely reason's for it. Highly specialized custom jersey's.
