A few months ago Florio had an article about Romo’s viewership being down. CBS wants him to tone it down a bit and Romo reluctant to change his ways. What I found interesting is Bud Light or someone were running ads having popular people reenact Caddyshack. Romo played Murray and had a commercial all to himself, but the ad that premiered during the Super Bowl barely showed him.
Accoring to WFAN in NYC the Yankees and Mets both dwarf the two local basketball teams though I have not heard the raw NBA numbers or found a similar chart. It's kind of shocking to me how low the numbers are. Some MLB teams are getting over $100 mil per season for broadcast rights and they can't even even get 100k viewers a night in their market.
Does this mean the Sabres have about 25k local tv viewers a night? - lacaprup
Well, they ain’t in the gd stands!
Holding out for jalapeños or waiting for this team to not be bs.

I watch but through my illegal stream. Does that count? - Da_Cashman
Joking aside, we're close to a point where more people will be streaming sports than watching by means of traditional TV, be it cable or over the air. The way they track that will change significantly as well. It will likely be easier too.
The "bigger" areas in Southern Ontario could just as easily be claimed by Toronto, though. If you were to remove the border, Buffalo likely gets Fort Erie, Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, which maybe adds another 100k at most. The bigger cities like Hamilton and Mississauga would go to Toronto for sure.
A better argument might be for Buffalo and Rochester to be combined, the way markets like Greenville and Spartanburg SC are, though they are closer to each other. - buffalofan19
There’s at least 5 or 6 of us in St. Thomas, population 45,000. Funny, I work with one of those guys and I used to work with the other.
St Catharines alone has 406K people. Niagara Falls has another 390K. Fort Erie is little more than a last minute stop before Buffalo at like 30K. - Wetbandit1
Pegula Net Jet scheduled to fly from Buffalo to Phoenix today. UNFORTUNATELY, DHOP's IG places him in Dallas, TX. NFL Owners meeting is in Phoenix, starting Sunday, so maybe the team is heading there early? DHOP could always be flying back to his home in Phoenix, I suppose??
Niagara Falls, canada has 96,000 and St. Catherine’s has 135,000. - Da_Cashman
There's also the fact that one person in a population doesn't equate to a TV household. I'm not sure how that metric is measured but that number probably doesn't get you to the next NFL market (New Orleans - #50) let alone the next US NHL market (Las Vegas - #40).
