Frustrating loss. The rangers 2nd pair will be their Achilles heal if not straightened out. Miller isn’t good enough defensively. Trouba has been better but not good enough to cover for millers mistakes. Was hoping Schneider could make the jump this year but isn’t good enough yet either

just don't get how you can have a one goal lead twice with like 10 minutes left and not even make it to (frank)ing OT. super frustrating loss

He wasn’t ready to play tonight. Hope they didn’t rush him back too soon

They might have really botched that whole situation. I know Lindgren is a warrior and plays through more than anyone ever realizes but there was no need to play him before he’s 150%. Should have gone right to IR and saved them from those cap shenanigans.

This is a game where gallant stands out in a bad way. Never adjusted anything to counter Carolina’s play

Obviously its all in hindsight but maybe bringing Lindgren back for his first game in a month vs. the Canes after the team smoked the Pens was not a good idea.

Gallant's comments postgame sure makes it seem like he's nowhere near 100% and if THAT play caused him pain I'm not sure why they're putting him on the ice right now.

This.
Canes pressed hard and the Rangers didn't pick up their play. Add a few boneheaded D moves that turned into goals and you have the third period.

Been saying that all week. Don't bring him back too soon. We are in the playoffs so let him heal and get a few games under his belt before the playoffs. He's a vital player and it doesn't help if he's injured for the playoffs.

They had a 1-0 lead with 10 minutes left in the game? What exactly did u expect him the do? Jump on the ice when Miller went to double the guy in the corner for no reason? Blaming this on Gallant is a joke.

This isnt solely blaming GG but imo the mistake was playing Lindgren.

I don’t disagree with that at all. I’ve been saying it for weeks and even said it the moment he got hurt, put him on IR. Anyone with a pair of eyes could tell he dislocated the shoulder. Once u dislocate it, it’s much easier to do it again. Absolutely no point in playing him right now. If we were 0–7-1 our last 8 and slipping out of a playoff spot? Maybe u do what u have to do. But this team is rolling right now and Harpur was playing well. But that’s not on just Gallant to play him, the training staff has to say he’s good to go and Lindgren has to say he feels good.

83.5 could go as high as 86 it sounds like. Bettman suggested they may negotiate a higher cap. Every bit would help

Just read an article on nhl.com that the salary cap increase is solely dependent on whether or not revenue projections can pay off the debt in escrow this year. Theyre saying the revenue needs to exceed current projections by something like $140-150m to pay off the debt this year, thus the salary cap will go up by a maximum of 4.5m for the following season.

Carolina is tremendous team, we get into series with them again, and it's going 7

definitely the same feeling as after a playoff loss after that one
