Has anyone heard from the kid or his people if he wants to drop out of school and become a pro as a sophomore?
Wonder what HE thinks about getting his degree or just going to play hockey. Might be critical info in all of this debate. - underhill14
Well I am no problem solver but Dubas left the cap space to sign him and added to his 9 total of NHL D instead of wing where they could have absolutely used more depth.
So I would imagine its very likely.
I also can't think of many actual good NHL prospects that decided to stick to school instead of hockey, you can always go back.

They also should give residents a break on their taxes for every cyclist they run off the road. - shack67
They already get a free pass on murder when they do that, it's pretty generous. |

One last reminder as Knies starts the NCAA tournament tonight:
Loss this weekend: Can sign by Monday, play 9 NHL games before playoffs
Advance to Frozen Four: Can sign Apr 9/10, play 3 NHL games before playoffs
so Knies could play 9..or as little as 3 or none
stay tuned

"Mitzie Hunter
Mitzie Hunter, who has represented Scarborough-Guildwood since 2013 and is a former education minister, says she is preparing to formally declare a mayoral bid next week.
She would have to resign her provincial seat this spring in order to run, but she says she is “in it to win it.”
That would cut the leaderless Ontario Liberal caucus from eight to seven.
She says Toronto is at a critical moment and the city needs fresh, new leadership."

That's great news. She's a (frank)ing moron, so her stepping down from her current post just to lose the Mayor vote would be excellent. - GreatGigInTheSky
It's fine if you don't like her particular brand of politics, but calling her a franking moron is undignified, and quite frankly smells of misogyny.
She has an MBA from Rotman School of Management.
She was the Minister of Education and the Associate Minister of Finance.
She's a hell of a lot smarter than you, Gigsie.

It's weird, on the one hand I drink enough Kool Aid to think the Leafs are gonna win the Cup. But on the other hand, if I had to bet money, I'd bet on Knies being somewhere between Vesey and Bozak at best as far as NHL careers.
Hope I'm wrong, but my irrational enthusiasm doesn't extend to Leaf prospects. |

It truly seems that way.
Although in a my very brief convo with Mr John Candy outside the Guelph Gryphons football field many moons ago (well i was outside the fence, he was in), he seemed like the nicest guy as well.
But my memory is spotty lol |

Lol childish and immature? Because you got called out?
You can deflect all you want but it doesn't change the truth about you
On top of the fact when Monkey proved you wrong with stats you cowardly just disappeared from the conversation because you no longer could stand in the conversation and couldn't admit defeat. Childish. |

I just don't know why I'm considered a pessimist when I state that a kid who's never played an NHL game shouldn't be dropped into a pressure cooker of an NHL playoff series, where the "serious monkey on their backs in the 1st round Maple Leafs" will go up against a team that has won 9 series in the past three years. |

For the record, I'm in favour of traffic enforcement for cars and cyclists as well. Right now there is effectively no law enforcement at all for traffic other than parking. |

Your opinion is not truth, you can think however you want about me I don't care Have never really enjoyed talking hockey with you on here, I do with many others so no worries there
And it was childish, and that is my opinion. It doesn't have to have any worth to you and I do not expect it to, but I think it was extremely childish and you had an emotional meltdown.
You sure put a wreck to the Canucks thread though, they (frank)ing hate you so thanks for that, that has been entertaining to read.
And I have no idea what you are talking about, thats the 2nd time you said it. I wasn't on HB for a few days. Haven't even had a chance to read whatever Monkeypunk said. But keep being obsessed with me little guy |

That’s not being pessimistic at all. In the past few playoffs just one goal here or there would have made a world of difference. Here’s hoping that he might be the guy who pots one. |

It's far too early to tell what kind of career Knies will have.
He has an interesting toolset, has good numbers in the NCAA...
I'm not convinced he's gonna be able to step in a major role already this spring but it's fair to be happy to have him in your prospect pool.

Funny. I wish Montreal had that mindset with Caufield He thrived and we crumbled so it would be nice to have the switch flipped to our side. |
