But why are they cowardly hiding behind that? They literally just stood up for what they believe in. Right or wrong. They may be picking and choosing but who cares thatโ€™s what makes them happy or belief of thinking theyโ€™re doing the right thing. You guys are picking and choosing what makes you mad lol.

Also sabbath isnโ€™t a thing anymore.

They didnt last year or the year before. They havent "Stood up" for anything. Weird how the sabbath isnt a thing anymore but the above still is.

Hope this carries through the season, having him and pearson going along with our top flight pitchers would be Sa-weet!

Does anyone really, really care? Seems like a lot of manufactured outrage for a few bums who think they can catch the gay by wearing sweaters.

Magic number for Toronto securing 2nd place is 14.

Any points gained by Toronto and not gained by Tampa totaling 14 wins us home ice advantage in the first round.

If Toronto goes 6-5 in their remaining games, Tampa has to go 8-0-1 to catch us.

I'm not gay, not an NHLer and have never worn a pride jersey.

I have chosen to make this my final sit.

For me itโ€™s all about application. Apply to what makes sense to you, but to blindy follow a person or a book is dangerous.

Religion can really suck sometimes, no need to blindly follow 100% of something. But sure, read it and practice what feels right for you.

I like what Brene Brown says about how she goes to a church where politically and socially she probably disagrees with a lot of the people there and wouldn't hang out with them normally, but they break bread together and say peace of Jesus to you, and to you as well and shake hands.

At the church I go to, a lot of people there I wouldn't agree with - particularly since they believe in an immortal soul and as a Buddhist I believe the self doesn't exist, that's a big one - but we sing and eat pancakes together and it's cool. They knit wool toques and give them out to the homeless in winter. I like the saying 'preach the gospel - if necessary, sometimes use words'.

Having said that there's clearly some seriously messed up stuff in organized religion, but the spiritual principles of love, compassion, community and so on are fine.

Looking at the standings, who would you prefer to play the Bruins in the first round?

Penguins, Islanders or Panthers?

Penguins still have some stars, everyone says the Islanders are built for the playoffs, and the Panthers seem like the deepest lineup of those 3.

I think I'd like to see the Panthers play the Bruins in the first round. If Bobrovski can bring his A game and Tkachuk and Barkov be the stars they can be, it would be interesting.

- Leaffrog

I agree with this take. The Panthers have more depth than the other two. The Penguins are playing on lost glory and haven't won a round in a number of years. Their goaltending is average and their top players are getting into their mid 30's. The Islanders are inconsistent and can have a good game and a string of bad games. Sure, they could get hot and take out a top seed, but Florida has the weapons to make it interesting.

3-2 Minnesota (Knies) with a minute left in the 2nd
- GreatGigInTheSky

I watched this game on ESPN2. Minnesota is the real deal. They really rolled it up in the third. Knies has a great net presence and he's also is a great passer. Of course, it's still only College hockey and isn't even close to the pro game. Whether Knies can adjust to the speed of the pro game is anyone's guess.

Don't talk him up too much. Santo will give himself friction blisters with all the jerking off to Knies and his "big body" will do in a leaf uniform.

Just trying to evaluate the game and what I saw. I'll reserve judgement until I see Minnesota get into the Frozen Four and see if they dominate, like they did last night. On Knies, it's hard to tell. He could be out of his league, once he gets to the NHL, but he also might benefit from having NHL players getting him the puck in a dangerous shooting area. He'll need a major adjustment to his game in regards to foot speed and reflexes to play in the big leagues. If it wasn't for the Knies management team wanting to burn his entry level first year, I'd rather see him go to the Marlies and win a Calder Cup. He'll get more games in that way, than playing sparing minutes for the Leafs down the stretch and may never see a playoff game. I wonder if the Leafs could offer him a one way entry level contact for 3 years, so he gets an NHL salary, while playing for the Marlies?

Santo says he gets at least 1 game with the leafs so the Marlies aren't in the cards for him.

I think he goes to the Marlies. The leafs shouldn't be expecting this college kid to be "the guy" for their playoff run.

Him being good in the regular season would go a really long way in helping the rotation. Getting that lefty in there at the 5 spot would be great.

And if Pearson can get consistency with his control, he'd be dynamite in the bullpen.

exactly, hoping they stay out of the playoffs and maybe drop a spot or two in the standings to improve the pick. Not looking good lately though
