york may be able to take the ld 1 responsibilities. but we still don't have a 1 rd. and get that provie has gone through some partners, but he is not a true number 1. he can play sidekick on the top pair. really on the flyers management to blame. that year with nisky was good. shame ellis's career is over. he will go to another team and do well.

I would think you could get a 1st, maybe a prospect or another pick, could you add a prospect or a later pick and get a 1st and 2nd...
is their a site that will give you the value of provy, if you were just getting picks back?

think it would depend on who is interested. i think of teams like edmonton. could we get one of their two young d men and a pick. usually d for forward gets you a good return. but would be nice to get a solid d prospect and a pick. cap is always an issue as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if Danny prioritizes getting a young defensive body back for Provy over pure picks. |

A lot depending where the first round pick sits with the trade partner
I remember one site suggesting a 1st and good prospect

They really do need to make over the defense. |

I don't imagine many rebuilding teams would be interested in Provy. So guessing any 1st would be 18-30 range.

Yeah, Broberg, Sandin, Addison something like that.
Although I'm personally not a fan of Broberg.
Clarke? - Peter Richards
There's no way Provy fetches anybody that high-end |

provie and hayes it is then. with his contract and year sanhiem would be harder to move imo. - Peter Richards
Hayes might be a buyout. There just might not be a market for him with the term left on the deal.
In any case he’ll be gone. The logjam at RW needs to be relieved by trading konecny while he’s at peak value. Atkinson is here and foerster looks like he’s coming on at RW.
Provorov and konecny out the door. I’d say hart too but I’d be surprised if they do that. That move they can wait on. |

understood with hayes, but if we can get something back maybe retain two million as opposed to buying him out. agree tk is one of our better chips and would fetch one of our best retuns. don't think we should trade hart unless it's ridiculous

Its great to see the development of the Flyers' young players and as a fan I am really excited about next year already to see Tippet, Foerster and others taking the next steps. However I still feel that even with the potential ceiling of this young and developing core, its not enough to get this franchise out of mediocrity; the Flyers need a real top end talented player. I expect the Flyers will win more games down the stretch here and thus will probably not be picking in the top 5 unless they get huge luck in the lottery. With that said, serious question, do you think the Flyers should trade up into the top 3 to get either Fantilli or Carlsson, or should stand pat. I still believe the Flyers should be aggressive at the draft and try to trade into the 3 to get the best chance to get one of the top 3 centers in this draft. |

Torts had a great presser at practice today. He addressed tanking and Morgan Frost:

BTW, Torts stated almost verbatum exactly what I have stated about Frost, i.e. that he has improved as the year has gone on but Torts believes there is more there that he wants to see. |

even if they wait till 2024 the buy out sucks, better off sucking it up until there is a real reason to take the hit

thought that was about Sanheim, actually he said that about SAnheim last night, either way, it was said as a positive, Torts knows there is more and his job is to get it, that is not a bad thing and bodes well for the future. I dont believe how you said it matches how Torts is saying it. |

Never know what's going to happen but according to Elliotte Friedman, who is a really informed source. Unlikely that they trade Konecny. Hart, Provorov and Hayes are who the Flyers want to move.

Almost verbatim? Did he state that Frost is an AHL player or is that where the almost comes in? Did he state that Frost is hard to see out there and is invisible? Or is that where the almost comes in?
That lack of self awareness in you making that statement is stunning. But not really.

It's a non starter. The Flyers don't have the chips to trade into the top 3.

Well Torts did not say Frost should carry Tippet's water bottle, that is for sure. :-) However I have not said all bad things about Frost, and have stated repeatedly Frost has improved as the year has gone along. Others have maintained that Frost has played the same exact way throughout the year and that its the archaic head coach that has held Frost back. Its this narrative that I verhmently disagree with. At the start of the season Frost was playing where he should have been playing, and now he is earning his ice time as it should be. Still Torts was hesitant and said he wants to see more. |

not yet, i see more of a scott laughton contract if longer term. but could easily see a bridge contract as well. 2 years at 1.5-2. - Peter Richards
That’s unrealistic. He’s not accepting that. If you’re saying 2/3 year bridge type it’s gonna be more in 3mil range.
What’s better that or extending longer slightly higher? It’s a philosophy the nhl is turning too. Extend longer less pay than doing the bridge and paying that big deal later.
If they have identified york as a piece sign him longer. Don’t wait til he’s 26 like sanheim. Because as we see now people are question that deal. |

You don't think the Flyers 1st this year and next year, along with Provey and a prospect wouldn't be enough? You may be right though ... |

Yes that is why I said almost. Torts did not mention the AHL player part, nor did he mention Frost carrying Tippet's water bottle which greatly disappointed me :-) |

I find it bittersweet to hear Coates is hanging up the mic. It's a good time for him to move on of his own volition, but I've always enjoyed his candor. I still think it was a mistake moving him from TV to radio. |
