So if Provy gets moved, do they look to lock up York to a multi yr extension, similisr to Ghost many years ago. Feanor brought up this idea. I do like the idea.

article the other day about how the rw position for us is looking good with tyson's play. will be interesting if cam rturns. which does anyone or has anyone heard anything about cam or is he with ellis.

We know what the Flyers are going to do if he and Couturier return. It will be "rebuild is off as we are now contenders." Say goodbye to the youth as they load up to get Coots a Stanely cup! Obviously, I am embellishing a tad but rebuild will definitely go to the back burner

We suck. The only option is to rebuild.
With the advisors out of the picture and the feltch not having his hand in things I trust FB to rebuild. Torts knows that we need to rebuild.
I don't foresee the flyers abandoning the rebuild anytime soon. They are listening to the fans and the fans want a rebuild.
If they abandon the rebuild it would not end well.
If coots wants out then he can ask for a trade, and I won't hold it against him. As long as he returns to health he should have value if they take that route

No one will trade for the Couturier contract. Only way out id for him to ask us to rip it up. But he is not getting that money and term anywhere else.

just read an article that said Cates got some selke votes. good for the kid. his defensive play has been impressive.

also didn't realize he was 2nd on the team in 5v5 scoring over 60.

no issue if they go for the playoffs next season, as long as they keep the youth, subtract who they can, add picks, no long term deals. Then sell going into 24

There is always another feltcher out there... always.
Some GM may see a window of opportunity and make the trade, knowing that by the tike that the contract is a bad idea he will have already been fired but will be referred for bringing a cup to some team.

Never lose hope! There is always another feltch out there somewhere!

We gotta get thrown a bone at some point, right!? 🤞

He's an undercover the radar player. The move to C, although questionable by some, may end up being a positive move.
Time will tell but some of the underlying numbers say good things about Cates

is it true he would have more points as a wing, most likely. Is it true a true shut down center, giving you 40 points, that was a 5th pick is really good, YUP

rookie race, go Cates

Frost and Tip don't qualify but good to see their point totals line up

For what he was asked to do, and who he's been playing against all year. I think he's done a great job. plus player on the team as well.

Those of us around the team knew about it for a long time. No quotes necessary. Lots of travel involved. A year or two removed from heart surgery. He is well, just felt the time had come.

I think I need to see another year from him before I am committing longterm. I like him and believe he is a longterm part of the team. I just need to see a larger sample before committing longterm.

Longterm contracts to the wrong players is the Flyers jam. Need to break that cycle.

I think he would be a fine winger as well, which is gist specialty. But his attention to detail and his shut down ability has really surprised me.
I'm happy with how he is turning our. I don't agree with everything that Torts does but this may be a solid move, especially if he is really getting votes as a selke finalist ... not that I expect him to ever win but it's still a nice accolade for him

well it was the people with the frost love affair that were crying cates was playing higher in the lineup. both have promise, but agree and said it. he has been a great surprise this year.

funny, i was told 5th round picks just aren't that important
